As our remote based Software Architect, you will be responsible for designing and developing cloud-native UI/UX applications throughout the entirety of the product life cycle and serve as the primary technology SME/consultant within the Kanopi team. This role can be completely virtual or located at our headquarters in Lancaster, PA.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Interfacing with business and product teams to solution new feature requests
  • Drafting architectural diagrams in effort to provide implementation roadmaps
  • Interfacing with development teams and infrastructure teams to drive solution design decisions and issue resolution
  • Developing appropriate solutions and help us get scalable solutions to market faster
  • Recommending solutions to product and project teams for implementing and developing new functionality and applications
  • Researching and identifying applications that would best suit requirements
  • Building MVP’s and taking lead on analyzing marketing requirements
  • Creating technical solutions and corresponding approaches for roadmap items
  • Suggesting improvements and updates based on security best practices for cybersecurity and data protection
  • Coordinating and assessing impact of IT changes and translating needs into change execution plans
  • Leading project planning and delivery tracking efforts on small- to medium-sized initiatives
  • Leveraging design, DevSecOps, account configuration, and similar areas to maximize speed of development and deployment
  • Collaborating with software engineering, project management, and operations teams to support Cloud deployments and operations
  • Utilizing automation frameworks to build automation for repetitive and complex tasks
  • Taking lead on cost estimation calculations of proposed infrastructure projects

What will make you successful:

  • Ability to see the “big picture” with the business team, and understand how to solution for needs
  • Strong familiarity with source, build, and deploy tools: Git, Gulp, Grunt, Maven, Webpack, Jenkins, etc.
  • Expertise in automated testing using Selenium to deliver high-quality, modular code
  • Proficient with AWS cloud architecture, including Lambda, S3, EC2, VPC, ELB, WAF, and Route 53
  • Proven experience with designing, developing, operating, and maintaining cloud-native web applications
  • Deep understanding of how full stack applications are built and function
  • Ability to assess existing infrastructure or code pipeline setup and develop and implement a remediation plan

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering
  • 10+ years of professional IT experience
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, specifically with full stack JavaScript frameworks and modern web technologies such as Angular 2+, d3.js, Vue/Vuex, React, Redux, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and Shopify
  • 8+ years demonstrating a high degree of proficiency in designing and developing complex, eCommerce solutions.
  • Must be well versed in eCommerce technology (Shopify, Magento ..)
  • Knowledge of application architecture, database design, application development, configuration, and reporting are required.
  • Flexible and adaptable with regards to learning and understanding various eCommerce technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with large-scale eCommerce efforts
  • Strong problem solver with ability to manage and lead the team to push the solution and progress.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to utilize automation and deployment tools, preferably CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and CloudFormation
  • Advanced Knowledge of Networks, Load Balancing, and Firewall Rules
  • Proficiency in Shopify, vue.js, Storefront API’s, REST, GraphQL
  • Ability to code using a server-side language (Node.js, Python, PHP, C#)
  • Mastery in using APIs and webservices to build integrations to and from applications
  • Experience with scripting languages; Bash and Python
  • Certification in Network Engineering
  • Ecommerce data and analytics, personalization, content management, machine learning, payment platforms, supply chain and fulfillment automation, search engine optimization integration, omni-channel ecommerce technologies
