Social Media Strategist

Location: Remote, Remote, US

As a Social Media Strategist you will have the opportunity to create rough draft content and graphics for the company’s social media platform. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by developing strategies and content for multiple business units in a variety of industries. The team you will be working with is creative and collaborative, and values fast-moving, high-volume environments.

So, what will you be doing as a(n) Social Media Strategist?

  • Oversee and manage program and project development from definition through delivery including identifying key measures of success.
  • Design, execute and present social media strategies for different industries, across multiple social media platforms.
  • Collaborate with project management and business unit partners to brainstorm content and effectively identify target audience reach.
  • Write and design high quality, SEO driven content for social media in common business-use platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, etc.) with the potential for others. Work closely with designers and copywriters to produce accurate, appealing content.
  • Develop ROI models around Social Media engagement and prioritize projects based upon a solid business case as well as determine guidelines for evaluating benefits and risks for certain Social Media engagements.
  • Translate business strategy into applicable interactive experiences that drive business results and meet business and user goals.
  • Be the primary interactive M+C point of contact for assigned key initiatives.
  • Work with various teams, BU leaders and departments to gain appropriate input and buy-in on social networking strategies and execution.
  • Ensure all posts are approved, proofed, and edited as required by our business policies.
  • Create content calendars for review following accepted social media practice.
  • Plan and schedule social media content.
  • Serve as primary content developer for brands and corporate social media sites excluding corporate PR, recruiting and HR related posts performed by other groups.
  • Develop M+C blog content and write or review Line of Business blog posts.
  • Monitor trends in social media tools and applications and appropriately apply that knowledge to increasing the use of social media.
  • Ensure that all social networking strategies are compliant with brand guidelines.
  • Coordinate integration of efforts to align with other marketing, creative, and BU campaign efforts.
  • Work to ensure consistent messaging between advertising and internally produced communications.
  • Stay current with new social media sites, platforms, and emerging technologies.
  • Report on program, performance, analytics, costs, scope, performance, and scheduling.
  • Make recommendations to improve productivity, effectiveness and reduce social media costs.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, journalism, English or related field, and/or equivalent work-related experience. Or certification in digital marketing and social media from approved industry leaders (ANA, AMA, DMA, etc.).
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in interactive marketing, editing, digital marketing, or social media that included the responsibility of social media content development and client interaction.
  • Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing for social networking functions.
  • A passion for social media marketing and other inbound marketing strategies.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Experience with social media, SEM and SEO.
  • Expertise in writing and maintaining a blog.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple takes and priorities within specified time frames.
  • Experience using graphic arts tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Digital Asset Management DAM solutions. Experience with enterprise level media management such as HubSpot, Sprout, Agorapulse or others. Experience using organizational tools such as Smartsheet.
  • Professional level skills with MS Office suite.
