SVP Chief Marketing Officer

As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will lead the development and execution of an integrated marketing strategy that fuels growth, deepens consumer and client engagement, elevates brand reputation, and enhances our partner ecosystem.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the CMO will operate with significant visibility across the organization, including regular interaction with the CEO and Board of Directors. This role will serve as a critical cross-functional partner to Sales, Client Services, Product, and Investor Relations.

The ideal candidate brings a strong balance of strategic brand leadership and performance marketing expertise, with the ability to craft compelling narratives backed by data-driven insights that drive enterprise-wide impact.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-channel marketing strategy aligned with company growth objectives and expectations of public market stakeholders.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across executive leadership, Sales, Product, and Client Services to ensure consistent go-to-market strategy, positioning, and messaging.
  • Lead product marketing and go-to-market execution, effectively communicating the value of our solutions to employers, health plans, and consumers.
  • Design scalable, co-branded marketing programs in partnership with key partners and channel alliances to fuel revenue growth and expand market reach.
  • Develop and optimize consumer acquisition and retention strategies that enhance engagement with our digital health solutions.
  • Leverage data, insights, and segmentation to deliver personalized experiences and measurable marketing outcomes.
  • Oversee external communications across B2B and B2C channels to enhance and protect the brand while ensuring message consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Lead public relations, media relations, and analyst engagement to elevate visibility and trust among investors, clients, and the public.
  • Manage corporate digital properties, including the development and ongoing optimization of website design and content.
  • Champion thought leadership initiatives, including executive visibility, industry participation, and content strategy.
  • Oversee strategic client communications, ensuring timely, relevant, and value-driven messaging throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Enable sales and client-facing teams with effective materials, messaging, and tools to drive conversion and retention.
  • Establish and lead a data-driven marketing operations function, focused on ROI, performance tracking, and continuous improvement.
  • Own marketing technology strategy, including stack optimization, campaign analytics, budgeting, and planning processes.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, including talent planning, recruitment, coaching, performance management, and team engagement.
  • Stay abreast of competitive trends and industry best practices, identifying strategic opportunities and innovations.
  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor to the CEO and senior leaders, offering strategic guidance on high-impact external messaging and brand visibility.

 What you will need to be successful

  • Traditionally a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Human Resources, Business, Marketing or related field is expected in this role.
  • 20+ years progressive marketing leadership experience, including executive-level roles in healthcare technology, SaaS, or regulated industries.
  • Proven track record of success in product marketing, consumer engagement, partner marketing, and brand strategy.
  • Experience scaling a marketing organization at a high-growth or public company.
  • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical acumen with experience in marketing operations and performance measurement.
  • Strong ability to leverage business intelligence to effectively manage and measure communications programs 
  • Experience working in highly cross-functional environments, influencing without authority, and driving alignment across diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage internal client relationships, including executive level, in mid to large size organizations, preferably a public company. Comfortable working with, providing counsel to, influencing high-level executives and senior management.
  • Proven track record of implementing public relations programs. 
  • Effectiveness in working in a matrixed, cross-functional organization.   
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus among diverse leaders and manage sensitive situations discreetly. 
  • Proven record on leading communications programs that have achieved measurable results.
  • Ability to position innovative products and tell compelling stories through messaging briefs and marketing collateral.
  • Strong customer service orientation is essential.
