About the Role
Vendr is seeking a skilled, passionate, and accomplished Senior UX Researcher in our efforts to make Vendr the best place to Find, Buy, and Manage SaaS. Working within our Product Design team and across our organization, the Sr. UX Researcher will lead research efforts for Agile delivery pods, bringing a customer-centered focus to research efforts. This includes partnership with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Engineers, along with ownership of best practices for all aspects of UX research, including remote usability testing, user interviews, data synthesis, and methodology.
As a Sr. UX Researcher on this team, you will help lead UX Research for a variety of projects. You’ll drive evaluative and generative research to explore customer and partner experiences and discover opportunities for innovation. You’ll keep up on trends and execute tactical user research – utilizing both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Your initial focus will be on evaluative research for both upcoming and existing platform capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Run end-to-end UX research (i.e., remote usability testing, surveys, card sort, tree tests, user interviews, etc.) with a direct focus on customer experience improvements.
- Partnering with a team of high-performing Product Designers in rapid Design Sprints, raising the bar in their own UX practice, and elevating our team as a whole.
- Resolve ambiguity by working with high-level requirements to help us ask the right questions and test the right scenarios, gathering all relevant information to guide our research approach.
- Drive research for existing experiences and upcoming prototypes, while also identifying opportunities for future product development.
- Stay current on emerging research, industry, and technology trends.
- Effectively present results to a range of stakeholders executives, engineers, product managers, product designers, and other researchers.
General Qualifications
- 5+ years experience conducting user research in B2B software development or equivalent
- BA/BS in psychology, sociology, anthropology, human computer interaction or related discipline.
- Deep expertise in remote usability testing, including scenario development, moderated and unmoderated methods, tool selection, quantification of qualitative feedback, and critical analysis.
- End-to-end experience with all aspects of the user research life-cycle, including study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, synthesis, reporting, etc.
- Hands-on experience with remote testing, iterative prototype testing, concept testing, field research, and survey design.
- Solid understanding of the product development lifecycle, and the relationship between business, product management, product design, engineering, and the role of user research.
- The ability to present complex concepts clearly across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
- Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- A postgraduate degree in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Interaction Design, Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science, or related field.
- 7+ years experience conducting user research in B2B SaaS or equivalent.
- Skilled in the RITE methodology (Rapid Iterative Testing and Evaluation).
- Experience driving mixed-method research and integrating findings into the customer experience.
- Experience creating repeatable, scalable research methods.
- Experience owning projects, communicating timelines, and executing independently.
