We are seeking a highly engaged and fiercely empathetic Sr. User Experience Designer to join our Managing Expenses Design Studio. The studio focuses on reimagining the way our members and consumers understand, prepare and manage healthcare expenses. In this role, you will work closely with various studio disciplines, design leadership, product and business stakeholders to develop and translate the product strategy into a compelling design vision.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be a vital individual contributor in the Managing Expenses design studio; focusing on payments, reimbursements, and claims
  • Continual application of the end-to-end UX process and design-thinking methods through various activities and deliverables
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional setting
  • Experience with mobile app, desktop, and mobile-responsive experiences
  • Support the orchestration and facilitation of design-oriented workshops within the studio and with other key partners and decision-makers
  • Inspire and provide guidance and feedback to other designers and disciplines within the studio and UnitedDesign at large
  • Collaborate with several other studio disciplines and key partners from discovery to execution and through delivery
  • Support prioritization and planning efforts with design and studio lead
  • Present and communicate to and with design leadership and partners on a regular basis
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of hands of experience with Information Architecture, UX Design, and Interaction and Visual Design
  • 4+ experience with any of the prominent design and collaboration tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe, Axure, Miro)
  • 2+ years incorporating consumer feedback and insights into the design process (user research, NPS, Voice of the customer)
  • 2+ years working with cross-functional partners including Technology, Product, Operations, Business, Analytics, Voice of the Customer, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience presenting and facilitating to stakeholders (up to executive level leadership)
  • 1+ years working in an iterative product development environment
  • Portfolio of work – link and password to be atop resume

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree or certifications in Human Centered Design
  • Experience and proven ability to work across a matrixed multi-tiered organization and deliver the best possible outcomes
  • Specific experience pertaining to Information Architecture and Content Strategy
  • Experience designing for financial and payment experiences
  • Experience designing for omni and/or cross-channel experiences
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of front-end development
  • A history of successful collaboration with development and engineering teams
  • Print layout and design

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
