The Senior UX (User Experience) Designer will be responsible for owning the end-to-end experience for the Service Area to which they’re aligned. They will collaborate with other team members, business partners, and stakeholders on implementing solutions that are based on solid user research and methodology. They will be involved in all aspects of execution: gathering and refining requirements, research, design concepting, and testing/validation. They will also lead ongoing support, maintenance, and continuous improvement for their assigned segment(s).

Primary Responsibilities:
- Helps estimate UX needs on a project and program basis
- Drives and evangelizes experience thought leadership in the organization
- Mentors and develops talent in colleagues throughout the organization
- Leads cross-functional teams and deliverables related to user experience from ideation to prototype, including research, conceptual design, operational/flow design, wireframes, interaction design, visual design and research
- Distills broad experience, digital strategy and vision into crafting experiences for user groups
- Translates abstract concepts and problems into simple, elegant, and innovative designs expressed in complex worksheets (forms), process flows, journey maps, storyboards and rapid prototypes for the full scope of user experience
- Drafts content for digital experiences that aligns with user’s needs
- Balances great solutions with short deadlines
- Executes usability tests, pilot programs and research
- Advocates for innovative, consumercentric and consistent experiences
- Develops and maintains a deep understanding of our products within the digital channel of service delivery
- Works collaboratively with visual designers to ideate new concepts that meet the needs of both users and the business while stretching our creativity
- Leverages the ability to seek, analyze, apply and advocate based on customer insights (user data, analytics and requirements, etc.) to inform and shape user experiences through the entire suite of products
- Conduct interviews to understand user groups and build personas
- Develops and provides successful strategic and tactical design recommendations based on technical feasibility, usability findings, industry standards and contract requirements.
- Works collaboratively with development and business analyst teams to understand constraints and identify opportunities to modernize our product design for users

Required Qualifications:
- HS Diploma/GED equivalent
- 5+ years of professional full-time work experience in a highly collaborative environment
- 3+ years experience in a Senior or Lead role
- Experience with process design and process mapping using diagramming tools (e.g. Visio)
- Experience with wireframing or prototyping tools (e.g. Invision, Miro, Adobe XD, etc)
- Experience in using A/B and multivariate testing and analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, Tableau, etc) in order to identify improvements and continually optimize based on data and defined success measures
- Experience with usability testing tools (e.g. Maze, UserTesting, etc)
- Experience presenting and winning support from team members at varying levels crosscompany
- Portfolio demonstrating crosschannel expertise and skill in creating usercentric experiences
- Working knowledge of the software development process

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT, MIS, computer science, human centered design, experience design or related field
- 3+ years relevant work experience in the graphic/user interface design field
- Experience with Agile software development
- Experience with design or prototyping tools (e.g. XD, Sketch, Axure, Invision, UXPin, Miro, etc)

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
