As a Senior UX Content Strategist you will play a pivotal role in shaping our digital presence by developing and implementing effective content strategies across various platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including UX designers, developers, and marketing professionals, to ensure a seamless user journey and optimize the overall user experience.

You will work across the organization with engineering and product partners to operationalize content production across the product lifecycle. You will also work closely with UX Design, User Research and Info Dev to create dedicated processes around content governance, standards, as well as help define a strategy for content distribution across all platforms and users. You will be part of a team of the Context Design Team pairing with taxonomists, content strategists and UX writers. A significant part of the role is UX Design advocacy and implementing processes that support a content-led product design methodology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement UX writing best practices and processes, contributing to the overall enterprise digital content production strategy.
  • Collaborate with UX designers to create micro-copy and UX writing for wireframes, prototypes, and other design artifacts that effectively communicate to the end user and help them complete the purpose of visit.
  • Collaborate on user research and analysis to gain insights into user behaviors, needs, and pain points, and leverage these insights to inform UX content writing practices.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive content playbook that aligns with industry standards, including standards of accessibility and inclusivity. Ensure content strategy aligns to user mental models and creates a consistent message about our product offerings.
  • Partner with content creators and subject matter experts to ensure accurate and consistent labeling, tagging, and categorization of content.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging practices in AI generated content, data taxonomies, and enterprise SaaS, and share insights and knowledge with the team.
  • Be a leader with a vision to help advance Extreme’s experience strategy globally and challenge others to change and adopt modern experience methodologies.
  • Strategize against the full life cycle of systems and applications by working collaboratively with other leaders across the customer experience, product management and software engineering teams to deliver improved experiences for our users while progressing toward valuable business outcomes.
  • Present content requirement and governance recommendations with inputs from research initiatives and ideation by assisting in testing prototypes while providing valuable synthesis and recommendations to the key stakeholders and users at Extreme Networks.
  • Contribute to the content and design systems, UX writing, taxonomy strategy, wireframes and prototypes for feedback and testing to drive adoptable outcomes.
  • Lead content reviews to ensure the production of high-quality design artifacts and content requirements across the team.
  • Educate partners like product management and engineering on design and content practices.

The Contribution:

  • Collaborate with UX designers to create intuitive and engaging user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that effectively communicate content hierarchy and user interactions.
  • Drive the creation and maintenance of content style guides, content governance frameworks, and content performance metrics to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  • Lead content optimization efforts through A/B testing, user feedback analysis, and data-driven decision making.
  • Partner with Product Managers and/or design leadership on initiatives that impact all the Design, Research, and Writing —including resourcing strategies, tool optimization and education, and process improvements that help us scale and deliver outcomes-based roadmaps across the product organization.
  • Identify critical issues across our internal and cross-functional landscape and execute operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Establishing and improving content strategy and DesignOps to DevOps workflows and processes to ensure we deliver quality content with predictability at scale.
  • Follow lean startup and pairing methods with UX Engineering to ensure what was designed and validated gets built.

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, English, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in digital content writing and strategy, with a strong focus on user experience (UI writing and micro-copy). Enterprise/SaaS product experience a plus.
  • An understanding of digital content global standards, such as WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards for content and design.
  • Proven track record of successfully executing content strategies across multiple digital platforms and channels, with measurable results.
  • Proficiency in leveraging user research and analytics tools to inform content decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and a strong editorial mindset.
  • Strong project management and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and effectively collaborating with designers, developers, and marketers.
  • Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing meaningful, and helpful content in complex digital products, with measurable improvements in user experience.
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, information organization, and findability best practices.
  • Proficient in using information architecture and taxonomy tools, as well as wireframing and prototyping tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into intuitive and scalable information structures.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts and influence stakeholders.
