About Technical Writing at Tealium
At Tealium, the Technical Writers form a small remote team that works daily with Product Management and Product Design to write about new features and enhancements. The Technical Writer is a versatile role that writes user guides, developer guides, API references, and UX copy.
The Technical Writer often serves as a hub of collaboration between the Support, Product, and Engineering teams to synthesize various sources of information into cohesive documentation for the customer.
The writing team has an established writing style guide, formatting guide, and a growing UX writing practice.

What you’ll do:
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Read product requirements
- Research industry concepts
- Read existing documentation
- Ask questions
- Interview subject matter experts
- Create new documentation
- Review drafts of documentation
- Ask more questions
- Evaluate terminology
- Rewrite existing documentation for clarity
- Attend design review meetings
- Keep asking questions
- Empathize with the customer
- Use the product in a sandbox account
- Verify that it does what you say it will do

What we’re looking for:
Core Qualifications:
- You have 1-5 years of experience writing documentation for complex software applications.
- You have a proven history of well-organized work that communicates technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- You have a proactive and solution-oriented mindset towards solving problems and delivering results.
- You have the ability to write sample code in at least one of the following programming languages: JavaScript, Swift, or Java.
- You are conversant with web technologies (HTTP, HTML, Cookies, JSON, REST APIs, Webhooks, Chrome Dev Tools, etc.).
- You are able to provide samples of your writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- You have a degree in Computer Science, Technical Writing, or a related field.
- You have experience with a static site generator such as Hugo, GatsbyJS, or Jekyll.
- You have experience writing for a SaaS product.
