About The Team

The Enterprise Technology department is a team of enthusiasts who dedicate their time to building reliable and scalable solutions to help build, run, and transform enterprise applications. We promote strong engineering practices and use innovative technologies and cloud-based microservice architecture, which enable Crunchyroll enterprise teams to integrate seamlessly and achieve their goals.

The Program Management organization is a distributed team responsible for coordinating initiatives for the Crunchyroll streaming service. We work to standardize Agile methodologies for the organization, evangelize process improvements, and lead cross-team communications.

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager with a passion for leading technical teams, coordinating information, and solving problems.

This position will report into the Program Management organization and will work closely with Enterprise Technology, in addition to other teams across the business, to support pivotal initiatives.

A day in the life of a Senior Technical Program Manager, Enterprise Technology:

  • Organize, plan, and track ongoing technical projects and critical initiatives for the Enterprise Technology team
  • Lead all aspects of the day-to-day progress of projects and initiatives with regard to schedule, scope, and process
  • Effectively lead meetings, track next actions, and proactively follow up on action items
  • Identify, schedule, and manage cross-team dependencies
  • Build and use effective partnerships across technical and business communities, including but not limited to product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders
  • Serve as a key liaison with relevant business groups to facilitate planning and collaboration between teams, align on goals, identify dependencies, mitigate risks, and effectively communicate regular updates to all stakeholders
  • Balance 2-3 large programs related to content, finance, and commerce and be able to switch context across programs as needed
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Backlog grooming, Sprint planning, Daily standup, Retrospectives, and Demos) where applicable
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the business and its structure, processes, and tools, and how initiatives positively impact the overall business
  • Establish and maintain best practices and repeatable processes to increase efficiency for teams in conjunction with the larger Program Management Organization

About You:

  • 5+ years experience as a technical project or program manager within software development teams
  • Prior experience in or managing projects specifically related to media asset management, content and metadata workflow, or other enterprise technologies preferred
  • Prior experience in or managing projects related to streaming, a plus
  • Experience working with globally-distributed teams
  • Working knowledge and understanding of key concepts and standard processes for technical program management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels, including Senior and C-level stakeholders
  • Must be self-motivating, self-sufficient, and have the strong ability to work effectively as an individual or as part of a team
  • The ideal candidate is inquisitive, organized, meticulous, and has a desire for continued self-improvement and development of new skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a calm and cool demeanor when managing multiple projects and deliverables
  • Knowledge of SDLC processes, with experience in both agile and waterfall methodologies, and knowing when to apply each
  • Strong experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Google Suite
  • BS degree or equivalent experience required, MS degree preferred
  • Interest in anime, a plus!
