Brief Overview:

Are you looking to join a high energy team who are tackling meaningful problems to transform digital healthcare? As a key player on the Conversational Tools team for Amwell, you will be leading the drive in our investment in present and future platform capabilities for delivery of conversation authoring tools to provide a higher level of service, reliability, scale and functionality to our key internal customers and stakeholders. This capability is at the heart of our ability to deliver automated care programs which have transformed the way healthcare is delivered by increasing accessibility and driving deeper connections between providers and patients.

Amwell is seeking an experienced and talented Technical Product Owner. In this role, you will be part of an organization that has a great Agile maturity and will have a unique opportunity to work in a Kanban model. The ideal candidate will have experience leading agile teams, proficiency with common programming languages, an understanding of human centered design methodologies and be well versed in utilizing JIRA or other project management tools to achieve and clearly articulate product requirements.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Product Manager on the creation of a product vision and roadmap.
  • Engage with our internal customers and partners to understand and identify needs and develop elegant solutions which align with product and company goals.
  • Engage various stakeholders and engineering leads to define the products functional and non-functional requirements and ensure implementation of product roadmap.
  • Write and capture user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira to communicate clear product objectives and requirements.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams in daily scrum meetings to ensure features are clearly understood, estimated, and prioritized.
  • Management and maintain a healthy backlog of development ready stories/epics.
  • Evaluate technical requirements to evaluate scope, risk and adherence with business requirements involving stakeholders were appropriate.
  • Test implementation to ensure business and user objectives are met. Presents and validates solutions with stakeholders and partners.
  • Craft internal and external communications around features, including release notes
  • Maintain and create product documentation to ensure stakeholders and partners understand how our products function.
  • Drive sprint and release plans and communicate changes to business teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field
  • 5+ years working in tech, consulting, IT, or related field, as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Manager, Consultant, or Project Manager
  • 5+ years working with software products
  • Experience working with common programming languages
  • Naturally curious, with excellent critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and juggle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Team player and affinity to collaborate with others
  • Experience working with Conversation Editors or Chat Bot technology preferred
  • Experience working with medical taxonomies and/or Clinical Informatics teams preferred
  • Experience in agile product development and healthcare industry preferred
