The Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Test Specialist works with a team of engineers and testers to provide test execution and quality assurance services. This position may oversee various types and levels of resources while regularly interfacing with development management, project management, and other project participants.

  • Work with Development Managers and Project Managers to fully understand, prioritize, and support all assigned projects and implementation timelines;
  • Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, functional test cases and automated scripts for a complex system;
  • Execute manual and automated test cases and report test results;
  • Facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members;
  • Adapt in an agile environment with rapidly changing requirements;
  • Technically strong, innovative and providing solutions/guidance to test automation engineers and manual test engineers;
  • Plan and estimate automation efforts, identify critical business functions and regression test cases for potential automation and future re-use;
  • Participate in requirements and specification reviews with business teams and actively participate in design reviews, use case reviews, and defect reviews with Development and Project Management teams;

  • Monitor and communicate progress of test activities associated with assigned projects and report to management on project: status, risks and critical success factors.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five (5) years’ experience in software testing with specific emphasis in the web applications environment and multiple database platforms
  • Three (3) years of progressive test automation experience

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in testing Cloud based applications using Amazon AWS or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience working remotely as part of a decentralized Agile team
  • Strong knowledge in relational database, SQL and able to write complex queries.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) using Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Delivery (CD) and Automated Testing (GUI and backend).
  • Experience with API testing using Postman, SoapUI etc.
  • Knowledge in Unix/Linux commands, including shell scripting.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and assume full responsibility for delivering projects on time.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), software testing concepts, and test methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a team, maintaining strong relationships with peers and outside of the department. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Ability to clear required background check.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related field
