Senior Solutions Architect, Security Solutions Engineering
The Senior Solutions Architect is responsible for helping customers achieve effective security policy outcomes using Fastly’s suite of security offerings.
The role requires in-depth technical knowledge of Fastly’s security products and expertise in web application security best practices and trends.
The Senior Solutions Architect is also responsible for staying up to date with Fastly’s product roadmap and ensuring we’re making the voice of our customers heard within our product and engineering teams. They may also assist in pre-sales activities such as Proof-of-Concept work and providing architectural guidance to our pre-sales teams.
They collaborate with customers to understand their security requirements and work with them to architect, implement, and maintain secure and performant solutions to meet their security challenges.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure our customers are successful with the implementation of Fastly’s security products
- Provide technical leadership within the Solutions team and act as a mentor to others
- Manage project status in our project management tools
- Work on internal PS projects as assigned
- Provide training to customers
Work Hours:
- This position will require you to be available during core business hours.
What We’re Looking For
Basic Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience with some or all the following foundational technologies: SaaS/Cloud or hybrid cloud deployments; Apache/NGINX/IIS or other web server platforms and associated Application server technologies and frameworks
- Knowledge and experience of web application security concepts (e.g. OWASP Top 10)
- Unix/Linux or Windows systems administration
- Scripting ability with any of the following: Python, Java, Go, PHP, Unix/Linux Shell, C#, or other common Web languages
- Understanding of common internet protocols, particularly HTTP & TLS
- A creative, out of the box problem solver
- Ability and experience in troubleshooting software products
- Proficiency in English is required
- Willingness to travel up to 25% or the time, when it is safe to do so

This position is a remote role and open to candidates residing in the following locations: Sydney, Australia or Melbourne, Australia.
This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.
