  • Become the SME for projects as they are being planned and developed, and own the testing step in our SDLC.
  • Manually test as well as create automation around features being developed.
  • Investigate and resolve complex bugs in unfamiliar code.
  • Troubleshoot test and tool failures with no prior context.
  • Mentor other team members on best practices as well as testing and automation strategies.
  • Offer code reviews on SDET pull requests.
  • Attend and participate in scrum meetings.

  • Comfort with manually testing software applications.
  • Ability to setup and maintain a local Ruby on Rails environment
  • Strong understanding of RSpec, Capybara, and Selenium WebDriver
  • An understanding of the code pipeline so that you can offer help when troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver stories independently, communicate bugs, and risks
  • Ability to write complex SQL queries to validate data changes or troubleshoot issues
  • Strong communication skills
  • Mentorship skills and the ability to give well-crafted constructive feedback
