ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer who has a strong background in Microsoft technologies, detail-oriented and an ability to work as a skilled member in a small development team for a rapidly growing company. As a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you play a critical role in maintaining high standards of software quality, identifying, and validating functionality ensuring that the software meets the specified requirements. To excel in this role, a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer should have a strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and tools. They should be proficient in test planning, test design, test execution and defect tracking. Additionally, they should possess good analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Our company provides Corporate Performance Management (CPM) software for large corporations. Our product is designed for high-end deployments at customer facilities or in the Microsoft Azure cloud. The core engine contains complex OLAP, multi-dimensional, multi-server, multi-threading, web, and SQL technologies and is specifically designed to solve problems for the Office of Finance at extremely large corporations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quality Assurance: Developing and implementing quality assurance processes and methodologies to ensure that software meets or exceeds customer expectations and industry standards.
  • Test Planning and Execution: Creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts to verify software functionality, performance, reliability, and security. Executing tests and analyzing results to identify defects and areas for improvement.
  • Test Automation: Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks to increase efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes. Automating repetitive and manual testing tasks to accelerate testing cycles.
  • Defect Management: Tracking and managing defects using defect tracking tools. Investigating and analyzing reported defects to determine their root cause and providing recommendations for resolution.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to understand requirements, provide input during design and development, and ensure quality throughout the software development life cycle.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements and driving initiatives to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of software development and testing processes.
  • Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation related to testing activities, including test plans, test cases, and test reports. Ensuring that all testing activities are well-documented and easily understandable.
  • Mentoring and Leadership: Providing guidance and mentoring to junior members of the quality assurance team. Sharing knowledge and best practices to help improve the skills and capabilities of the team.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Formal Education and Certification

  • Bachelor‘s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • 7+ years quality assurance experience, preferably in financial applications.
  • Proven experience as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer or a similar role, with a focus on testing complex software systems.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices, especially with Cloud, SaaS providers or web application providers is key.
  • Significant experience in designing and executing test plans and test cases for functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
  • Proficient with bug tracking and test management tools such as JIRA
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., C#, Visual Basic, Java, Python) to develop automated test scripts.
  • Experience testing web services (WCF, WPF, REST)
  • Solid understanding of GUI testing, HTML, CSS. JavaScript
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and identify root causes of software defects, risk assessment and estimate.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work in a team environment.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 3+ yrs of performance/scalability/load testing experience.
  • Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable automation code using C#, Selenium, RestSharp, Appium etc.
  • Understand the OneStream products and gain product knowledge to efficiently write automation.
  • EPM/CPM Knowledge or financial background.
  • OLAP and multidimensionality.
  • Experience with Consolidation Software, such as Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) or other EPM solutions.
