Pearl Health helps PCPs who are overwhelmed by the demands of an aging population and the unpredictable business model inherent to Traditional Medicare. Over time, this solution will empower PCPs to provide better care to their entire patient population. We believe there is a need to bring humanism back to healthcare by giving physicians the ability to better allocate their time with patients, increasing their autonomy, creating incentives that are aligned with achieving better outcomes through clinical decision-making powered by actionable intelligence, and making risk more available and more readily optimized through an intelligent marketplace. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) is launching a new value-based care program to disrupt Traditional Medicare, and we believe that this represents an opportunity to achieve the meaningful change we envision.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Platform Team at Pearl Health, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining our data infrastructure. Data is central to everything we do at Pearl Health, so your work will be a core asset of our company. We are looking for an experienced and passionate engineer who can methodically and creatively add value to our business and organization. You will come in ready to help define the data ingestion, ETL and vendoring process of our core data responsible for driving the Pearl Health product. This will require a strong background of data architecture and data engineering best practices. You should be a deeply curious individual, and have demonstrated continuous effort to satisfy that curiosity, through research, tinkering, organizing, and teaching.

- Architect and develop scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to collect, process, and analyze large volumes of healthcare data.
- Collaborate with data scientists, product teams, and user experience experts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design and optimize data models and databases to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
- Implement best practices for data quality, data governance, and data security to ensure compliance and privacy.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to integrate data sources and systems effectively.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior members of the data engineering team.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering and contribute to the continuous improvement of our data infrastructure.
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in performing results-driven development in a collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in Python/SQL and experience with modern data lake technologies. Knowledge of AWS Glue is desirable.
- Experience in designing and implementing scalable data pipelines using modern data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Kafka).
- Deep understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security principles.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a passion for building robust and efficient data solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Previous experience in regulated environments and knowledge of privacy and security considerations in data engineering.
- Prior exposure to the healthcare, insurance, or fintech industries is a bonus, along with a genuine passion for our mission.
