The Community You Will Join:

The Anti-Discrimination & Equity Intelligence team researches, designs, and builds the tools for Project Lighthouse, a groundbreaking initiative to measure and evaluate discrimination while preserving the privacy of users’ data.

The Difference You Will Make:

We are looking for Senior Software Engineers with expertise in data engineering and analysis to help us maintain and evolve Project Lighthouse. You will get the unique career opportunity to contribute to and publish papers on the underlying privacy technologies that drive Project Lighthouse.

Your day-to-day responsibilities includes:

  • Build and maintain the underlying privacy algorithms that drive Project Lighthouse.
  • Advise and support Data Scientists in their use of Project Lighthouse tools.
  • Collaborate with others to build analytical tools for measuring discrimination.
  • Collaborate with others to conduct research to extend the depth, breadth, and accuracy of measurement insights.
  • Co-author papers sharing our technical innovations with the world.
  • Author blog posts and attend conferences (in-person or virtually) on Project Lighthouse.

Your Expertise:

  • 6+ years industry experience
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
  • A deep working knowledge of production quality Python code / application design.
  • A strong interest and aptitude in CS algorithms.
  • Working knowledge of performing statistical analysis on numerical and categorical data.
  • A dedication to reaching ever higher levels of quality and rigor in your and your teammates’ work.

Your Location:

This position is US – Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We’ll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

Pay Range

$185,000-$221,000 USD
