What does a great Senior Software Engineer do?
There’s an awesome opportunity to materially impact how Travelport grows by helping us build our next generation air offer search platform. Air offer is a high throughput, low latency environment focused on providing travel agents with the best possible mix of content.
Great candidates will leverage prior experience scaling high performance software systems in a cost-efficient way to help make judicious tradeoffs, build systems, and mentor technical talent.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and support (1) high throughput, low latency applications, and (2) cloud-native operational platforms.
- Provide technical leadership by mentoring engineers, consulting on major projects, and shaping Travelport technology strategy.
Who we are looking for in this role:
- Expertise building high throughput, low latency JVM applications. Prior experience in high transaction volume environments (e.g. high frequency trading (HFT) and ad tech) preferred.
- Expertise building cloud-native platforms using AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes to support operationalizing high volume applications in a cost efficient manner.
- Extensive prior experience coaching software engineers in order to help grow the pool of software engineering talent.
