Senior Product Manager

Location: Remote – US

The Field Engineering team within the Customer Success organization incubates products that are used to unlock use of GitHub for enterprise customers and our broader community.

Field Engineering is building products to help customers adopt GitHub and is looking for a Product Manager to manage new products used to drive adoption. The ideal candidate will have product management experience in the CI/CD space serving as the bridge between the customer and the engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the customer. You will be the champion and voice of customers in every conversation. You will build direct relationships with customers as well as immersing yourself in customer feedback.
  • Manage the roadmap. Make tactical prioritization decisions while helping the team think long-term. Build trust with stakeholders by maintaining an understandable, accurate roadmap.
  • Collaborate across teams. Your success will require coordination across multiple teams and domains at GitHub.
  • Data driven decision making. Analyze data for trends and potential customer pain points, and use this to prioritize and inform how to improve the product. Go back to the data when needed to answer questions.
  • Measure success. Own the measures used to define success for your product. Make measures visible to all stakeholders and interpret them into actionable conclusions and new hypotheses.

Skills and requirements

  • 3-5+ years of product management experience with demonstrated ability to discover opportunities and define and deliver products.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions as well as other CI/CD solutions such as Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI, Travis CI, or Azure DevOps
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with a high level of comfort communicating effectively across multiple stakeholder groups and senior leadership
  • Great problem solving skills around technical, product, and business scenarios
  • Strong analytical skills; experience defining and managing KPIs; ability to utilize data to produce a narrative on the team’s work efforts, successes, and challenges; ability to build dashboards, presentations, and reports for key stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Able to coordinate with teams across locations and time zones

Ability to meet GitHub, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft, GitHub’s parent company, Cloud Screen upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

(Colorado only*) Minimum salary of $104,400 to maximum $221,500 + bonus + equity + benefits.
Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired in Colorado.

Location: In this role, you can work remotely from anywhere in the United States or onsite in one of GitHub’s U.S. offices (San Francisco, Bellevue, Raleigh)
