About the Go-to-Market Team
The Go-to-Market team at Whatnot is responsible for the expansion of our category suite and the continued growth of sellers and buyers on the platform. As a Senior Marketing Manager, you’ll own marketing strategy and buyer acquisition and build a healthy demand in your product category.
Role
- Own an up-and-coming marketing function and drive the growth and engagement of sellers and buyers on the Whatnot platform.
- Test strategies and tactics to build the fashion playbook at Whatnot including leading attention grabbing stunts and campaigns.
- Create awareness and growth impact with creative campaigns through leveraging multiple channels including social, influencer, content, events, and lifecycle.
- Lead strategy and execution of public relations and earned media efforts.
- Set the seasonal marketing calendar and define long-term strategies for delivering revenue growth and increasing brand awareness.
- Craft brand voice, message, and aesthetic for Whatnot’s fashion verticals’ marketing
- Lead the @whatnotwear social accounts, including owning platform-by-platform strategy, content creation, and content planning.
- Decide total fashion influencer strategy and work closely with the partnerships team to source leads, prioritize, contact, and onboard influencers.
- Create, lead, and execute all cross-category events, including digital-only activations, major brand, creator, or seller partnerships, and in-person events

As our first Marketing Manager – Fashion, you should have 6+ years of experience in marketing with a focus on creating and owning creative brand stunts and campaigns that drive outsized impact in developing awareness and acquisition, plus:
- Brand and content experience with proven results at a high growth start-up or fashion company
- An especially strong marketing strategist with the ability to tenaciously prioritize and implement the most impactful efforts and initiatives.
- An excellent creative mind that will think out of the box to build compelling, exciting, and surprising approaches to driving interest and engagement in the Whatnot platform.
- A strong analytical problem solver that can use data to guide decision making while still leaning into your marketing intuition.
- Strong project manager who can excellently manage the execution of complex campaigns and brand moments.
- Experience marketing through multiple channels including social, influencer, content, events, and life cycle.
- Been a top performer wherever you have worked.
- Comfort working extraordinarily fast in an ambiguous work environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience working on a marketplace or a two-sided platform.
- Passion for creator communities, existing product categories on Whatnot, and/or new verticals that are uniquely suited for live e-commerce.
- Experience buying and selling in online marketplaces communities.
