Title: Senior Manager, In-House Design

Senior Manager, In House Design: Creative director for all In House Design projects, both strategic and adaptive design across all brands, HAS and CARB process lead for Design function and people leader of ≈6 staff members and TPN Design relationship manager.
Senior Manager, In House Design will help develop, improve, and expand Hershey’s core brand equities through consistent application of world class design, while building the design capability of The Hershey Company. The Design Manager generally has 10-15 years of experience as a design manager or leading design agencies/design projects. This position reports to the Senior Director Strategic Design.
The Senior Manager, In House Design will manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and will need to operate at both a detailed project management level and a broad strategic, conceptual level. This role requires influencing clients, financial negotiation, and clear communication with all stakeholders.
Top Challenges
- Advance capabilities of original design work across Salty, CMG, and Protein
- Delivering synergistic designs aesthetic across all consumer touchpoints, rooted in brand VIS strategies and 4box
- Improve composition and quality of static creative assets (banners, meta, etc.)
Responsibilities
Adaptive packaging design and implementation
- Development of preproduction art and other packaging assets
- Development of toolkits as needed
- Packaging design and concepting (designing with support of Design Managers)
- Ensure HAS files have been approved and released for universal use
- Develop and implement tools and techniques to support and optimize design process.
- Support the development and distribution of capability building tools to gain consistency, scale, and speed across the Marketing Strategy and Communication ecosystem.
- Support design execution, capability development and consulting with other creative teams within the larger Hershey organization.
OMNI team representative and Retail media asset development and production
- Banner
- Addressable customer specific creative
- TPN briefing and creative reviews
- Super 6 Development for Seasonal and Everyday imagery for existing products (occasionally Innovation)
Art Directing
- Review all art created by direct reports.
- Collaborate with Design Managers to ensure latest design VIS being followed
- Develop high level presentations to support design initiatives and raise design awareness and understanding across the organization.
- Support driving a common point of view around design for The Hershey Company internally and externally.
- Monitor design trends, processes, agencies, etc. that can inform and drive innovation across our projects.
Team Leadership
- Ensure processes are followed
- Develop new or refresh processes along with Design Operations Team
- Consider team relationships and development, influence collaboration and team building
- Manage all HR systems and timeline responsibilities
- Grow skills of all direct reports
Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design, or like, is mandatory
