About the Infrastructure Team:
The Infrastructure team at dbt Labs works to expand our platform capabilities and features. The team improves reliability and accessibility for Enterprise customers. Internally, the Infra team supports developers as they bring novel features to production.
We’re looking for an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer to help us build out critical infrastructure components that enable our product engineering teams to build and deploy solutions. Particularly, we need to achieve parity with our existing offerings hosted in AWS. This will help better support current SaaS clients in our Azure environment.
You’ll be joining a talented team of infrastructure engineers whose primary cloud has been AWS with some Azure experience – ideally you’d be an Azure-first infrastructure engineer excited to help other folks create and support infrastructure in Azure. You have a strong sense of Azure best practices and are familiar with major Azure services and their limitations.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Drive strategic scaling and automation initiatives across Azure and AWS
- Leverage tools/languages such as Kubernetes, Terraform (IaC), Helm, Python, and others!
- Lead the team in creating Azure parity with existing AWS offerings
- Integrate with a high powered engineering team where you will help drive company goals while growing your technical skillset!
- Work closely with engineering and product to drive sustained infrastructure growth
Qualifications:
- Have 5+ years experience in software engineering, including production experience supporting SaaS deployed on Azure
- Minimum requirement of Bachelors degree in related field (computer science, computer engineering, etc.) OR
- Completed enrollment in engineering related bootcamp
You are a good fit if you:
- Supported containerized workloads in production on Azure (AKS a plus!)
- Are passionate about Azure but open to working in AWS and are able to find equivalents that minimize developer friction when creating solutions capable of running in either cloud
- Have mentored peer developers in Azure best practices and tools
- Have production experience with IaC (Terraform, ARM, Bicep)
- Have the ability to break down complex technical concepts and communicate them to business stakeholders
- Have a creative attitude towards problem solving, and enjoy working directly with business stakeholders to help them get past roadblocks
You’ll have an edge if you:
- Have experience working in multiple Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc)
- Have experience managing multiple ongoing projects at once
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
