Title: Senior II Fullstack Software Engineer (Payments)

Guild is hiring a Senior II Fullstack Engineer. This role will involve building user features, designing and implementing APIs, and leading in solving engineering problems within the Payments engineering group. The Payments group at Guild handles large cash flows between partners on a daily basis, while ensuring that the process is auditable and reliable. In the next year, we will be building out a new platform which can support more use cases in moving money and reporting on it.

As Senior II Fullstack Engineer, you will:

  • Build and design well-tested full stack React applications from the ground up
  • Proactively engage with your team in daily stand-ups, planning meetings, and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with a Product Manager or Designer to ensure that plans, stories, and estimates are accurate and prioritized properly
  • Mentor engineers in our engineering organization we’ll succeed, learn, and grow together
  • Collect and use metrics to guide the scaling of our products
  • Suggest process improvements within the team

You are a strong fit for this role if you have:

Required Competencies

  • Reliable Software Delivery consistently releasing software to production that is high quality, maintainable, and readable
  • Lead Engineering Planning empowering team members, proactively finding issues with upcoming plans, and improving engineering planning to maximize throughput
  • Steward Software Design Patterns identify and enforcing existing design patterns within codebases, and suggesting new patterns when required
  • Improve Team’s Processes be a leader in the team’s engineering processes, and maintain team processes even in the absence of more senior team members.

Preferred Competencies

  • Financial Service Experience will be really helpful as we build a more modern platform for payment facilitation at Guild
  • Domain Thinking – design software with domains in mind to reduce churn and improve communication clarity
  • GraphQL Guild primarily uses GraphQL to encapsulate APIs
  • AWS Lambda Guild is using AWS and Lambdas as the primary technology for handling synchronous web requests
