Title: Senior Electro-Mechanical Design Checker
Location: Remote, USA
As a Electro-Mechanical Design Checker, your primary job responsibility will be to perform document checking functions for mechanical engineering drawings and specifications. The selected individual will be required to examine engineering drawings/models and related documents for soundness, efficiency, and simplicity in design; completeness, clarity, and dimensional accuracy; correctness of materials and processes; conformity to design/drafting standards, design specifications, and practicability; and economy of fabrication, assembly, and installation.

Primary responsibilities:
- Checking documentation of fabricated items, diagrams, Source Control Drawings (SCD’s) and assemblies to ensure conformance to design documentation for new documentation or revisions to existing documentation and data.
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Standards and design data supplied by engineering.
- Review form, fit completeness, and consistency of dimensioning of drawings.
- Recommends changes to ensure compliance with standards, procedures, and specifications.
- Performing tolerance stack up analysis in support of form and fit of components to assembly.
- Conferring with engineering to resolve drawing and design discrepancies.
- Providing training to improve overall drafting quality and consistency.
- Reviewing material requirements for standardization and conformance to industry specification manuals.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
- Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling and drafting experience
- Proven experience executing requirements of drawing and model checking
- Experience with mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design.
- Design, checker and/or manufacturing experience that included the use and interpretation of engineering design drawings.
- Drafting standards as defined in the Product Definition Data Base and ASME Y14.41 Digital Product Definition Data Practices.
- NX experience
- Solidworks experience
- Understanding and familiarity with release levels
- Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) experience
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM) experience
Minimum Program Qualifications:
- Be on a career break of one or more year at time of application
- Have prior experience in functional area of interest
- Have interest in returning in either a full-time or part-time position
