Senior Director, Product – Content & Interactions

The Position

Our Health Product team is looking for an experienced leader to help develop and grow our product strategy related to healthy content and interactions on our platform. You’ll be leading and supporting some of Twitter’s most mission-critical products and services, partnering closely with product and engineering leaders across the company to plan and drive execution of top company priorities with a focus on growth, innovation and protecting our users. You will be shaping the future of social interactions and coming up with creative solutions to the most complex health problems faced in this space. The ideal candidate is passionate about preventing harm to users, thrives on solving hard problems and has successfully developed and scaled high performing teams. You must be able to manage multiple products and priorities throughout the product lifecycle and be comfortable being a thought leader in the Health space.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive a strong product mindset across the health space by creating a compelling product strategy and vision that will ensure Twitter users are safe and able to engage in the global conversation on their terms.
  • Attract, build and develop a team of talented product managers to deliver on both fundamental and novel approaches to user & platform health.
  • Lead a cross-functional organization of engineers, designers and data scientists to build robust systems, tools and products.
  • Empathize, engage and deeply understand the needs of our users. .
  • Accelerate the pace of shipping and delivering results,, while keeping our product quality bar high.
  • Create ambitious roadmaps that are achievable and keep teams focused on top priorities.
  • Define key metrics and drive data driven decisions at scale, while also helping teams move fast and make continuous progress.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to proactively understand their needs and opportunities for your team.
  • Lead your team with empathy through execution, by thoughtfully motivating, energizing, empowering, supporting, unblocking, sheltering, and advocating for them.
  • Focus on personal and team development by constantly soliciting, giving, and incorporating constructive feedback.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about Twitter, building trust in our products and services and protecting users.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and able to help others do so as well.
  • Ability to be flexible and navigate through impactful organizational changes
  • 10+ years of product experience, including responsibilities driving prioritization, trade-offs, and timelines.
  • 5+ years of experience hiring, managing, and developing both individual contributors and senior product leaders.
  • Experience in social media, fraud, abuse and compliance, preferred but not required.
  • Proven track record of achieving impact through solutions that empower customers and scale.
  • Proven ability to analyze and synthesize data in order to set strategic goals.
  • Proven experience owning outcomes through launches not only internally but both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency and effectiveness working closely with engineers and managers.
  • Experience working closely with Design and UX teams on user facing product features. Proven track record of bias for execution and finding creative solutions when faced with constraints (cost, resources, timeline).
  • Able to strike the right balance between being strategic and empowering your team while also being able to dive deep into the details, inspect the business and help negotiate trade-offs with stakeholders.
  • Had demonstrated the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders preferably in matrixed organizations , working towards the same business and customer outcomes.
  • Excellent executive level written and verbal communication.
  • Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep seated empathy for teams and partners
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field (Masters / MBA preferred)

The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 4 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • Tier A: USD $280,000 – USD $393,000
  • Tier B: USD $264,000 – USD $371,000
  • Tier C: USD $251,000 – USD $353,000
  • Tier D: USD $239,000 – USD $332,000

This job is also eligible for participation in Twitter’s Performance Bonus Plan and Equity Incentive Plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
