Senior Director, Learning and Credentialing

Location: Remote – US

GitHub is looking for an experienced Senior Director to join the Partner and Expert Services team within our Customer Success organization to lead our Learning and Credentialing team. The team provides learning experiences for customers and partners as well as methods of validating expertise through certifications and partner accreditation.

We are looking for an experienced professional who thrives on working collaboratively, building and maintaining relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, listens actively, and is a skilled problem-solver who delivers on business goals.

The Senior Director will be responsible for leading and advocating on behalf of a team of experienced program managers, setting and articulating the strategic vision for the Learning and Credentialing programs, and ensuring that the team delivers programs that meet the needs of our audiences and stakeholders.

The team delivers a range of programs to customers and partners, including certifications, self-guided learning modules, virtual instructor-led training, eLearning, partner accreditations, and is in the envisioning phase of an initiative to improve how customers access and discover our learning offerings in an integrated and centralized manner. The team works closely with other teams to utilize shared resources, coordinate between programs to provide a seamless customer experience, and ensure that our Customer Success organization can scale to meet the learning needs of customers of all sizes.

Responsibilities

  • Drive program strategy, vision, and execution in all facets
  • Collaborate and strategize with other leaders within Customer Success to successfully grow our programs
  • Adapt, grow, and scale the existing programs and gain alignment across different stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Set objectives and key results related to the performance of the programs
  • Mentor and nurture the growth of team members
  • Hire, retain, and grow top talent on the team

Skills and requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing programs focused on learning and development, skill validation, and partner management
  • Great problem solving skills around technical, product, and business scenarios
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with a high level of comfort communicating effectively across multiple stakeholder groups and senior leadership
  • Experience managing vendors, budgets, project plans, and delivery dates and coordinating with teams across locations and time zones
  • Strong analytical skills; experience defining and managing KPIs; ability to utilize data to produce a narrative on the team’s work efforts, successes, and challenges
  • High level of comfort communicating effectively across multiple stakeholders and senior leadership

Minimum salary of $122,500 to maximum $275,000.

At GitHub certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.

Location: In this role, you can work remotely from anywhere in the United States or onsite in one of GitHub’s U.S. offices (San Francisco, Bellevue, Raleigh).
