How You’ll Make an Impact

The Data Scientist is responsible for working with the business analytics team, marketing and senior leadership to better understand consumer behaviors and trends impacting the Retail Services business. Team member owns and provides strategic oversight for retail pricing and is key contact for marketing initiatives, providing analysis of returns.  In the role, you would be responsible for:

  • Driving continuous improvement in business processes (e.g. marketing attribution, forecasting, customer segmentation, CRM and promotional effectiveness, pricing, etc.) through analytics; developing insightful and condensed visualizations out of complicated analytics and providing actionable recommendations for various business teams.
  • Serving as the subject matter expert to oversee all tests and test designs across VIOC, to include testing and oversight of analytics tools (e.g. SAS, R, R-Shiny) used across VIOC Marketing and FP&A.
  • Training and developing other analysts within VIOC and serving as the SME for where and how to get data – and how to interpret that data.
  • Designing, building and maintaining custom reporting by working with business unit leaders to understand the intelligence they need to make the best decisions to drive profitability.
  • Supporting forecasting, budgeting and long-term strategic planning efforts with data-driven predictive and cognitive analytics.
  • Adhoc statistical and analytical work as requested.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in business/data analysis or related field.
  • Direct experience in data and analytics organization or support function and demonstrated ability to develop reporting and analytics in Big Data environments and query building skills via BI tools or SQL programming.
  • Experience working with divergent data types, to explore and extrapolate data-driven insights using advanced modeling and testing applied to data acquired from a range of sources.
  • Solid expertise of strategic and implementation experience across broader Data and Analytics functions such as Master data and data governance.
  • Visualization BI tools such as R-Shiny, Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau, Business Objects etc.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Must be able to prioritize and communicate business needs effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to listen and communicate effectively.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment, able to meet deadlines.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
