Position: Senior Data Platform Engineer
Reports To: Platform Engineering Manager
Role Summary:
Tia is seeking an experienced Data Platform Engineer to build and manage a modern data architecture to drive our data-driven decision making. As our first Data Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing maintainable, reliable, secure and scalable data infrastructure and pipelines to support our growing data needs. As the bridge between analytics and engineering, you will work cross functionally with Product, Engineering, Operations, Security, amongst others, to deliver impactful data technology solutions.
What you’ll do:
- Own and implement the architecture of our data infrastructure, solving problems related to performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Own our ETL/ELT strategy. Identify and support key conclusions around Tia’s approach to data ingestion and transformation and drive it forward with your implementation.
- Manage and maintain our data infrastructure (data warehouse, ETLs, BI tools), including infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment automation using infrastructure-as-code
- Design the development processes for data engineering including change management, testing, CI/CD, and deployment
- Collaborate cross functionally across the business to create self service data solutions
- Collaborate with your teammates on the platform team to contribute to the design and implementation of our cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the security team to develop and implement data governance and security policies to protect our patient’s sensitive data
About you:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ in a Data Engineering or relevant role
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code or Configuration-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Cloudformation, Pulumi, Ansible
- Proficiency with an object oriented or functional programming language such asPython, Java, Scala
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database design principles
- A successful history building production data solutions with one of the major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills to drive data engineering initiatives forward in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
