How you will make an impact:
As part of the Analytical Instruments Group (AIG) IT Analytics Team, BI Developer IT will be responsible for the implementation of quantitative and qualitative analyses of Key Performance for different projects for a wide range of measures within a project to create Analytical Instruments Group Datamart in AWS Data Lake within Thermo Fisher Scientific. This position will interact with multiple functions and layers within the organization. It will be involved in projects and interact in a fast-paced and highly visible business environment, identifying opportunities to optimize manufacturing performance and effectiveness based on data analysis. The BI Developer will drive and collect data pertaining to specific Operational metrics and transform that data into information by highlighting important or useful information on a given metric and make recommendations and support business decision-making by providing an informed opinion based on data.
What you will do:
- Create Power BI dashboards interfacing with multiple financial applications and file systems, including data models, reports, interactive visualizations
- Support business teams within AIG to gather requirements for business relevant metrics in AIG Data mart.
- Work in partnership with team and business stakeholders to build and share knowledge, ensuring consistent delivery of information.
- Document and test work products and conduct data quality checks on a regular basis.
- Work with divisional teams to understand the processes used to generate reports currently, supporting IT to automate these processes.
- Develop in-depth understanding of data environment and leverage knowledge to build robust scalable solutions
How you will get here:
Education
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree – Finance preferred
Experience
- Working ERP and CRM system and data knowledge a plus (SAP, Salesforce experience preferred)
- Minimum 6 years of working experience in Power BI Dashboard development, visualization, and scripting. Proficiency with MS Access, Azure, AWS redshift, and SQL databases. Fluent in EDW data management structures and external data skills.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in SSAS Tabular & SSAS OLAP Models
- Conceptual understanding of AI/ML is preferred. Python language experience is desirable.
- Strong leadership, mentorship, communication, and presentation skills
- Process improvement experience desired
- Experience in Biotech or Technical Support industries.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Experience working with large sets of data and able to complete data validations in a short period of time.
- Develop in-depth understanding of data environment and demonstrate knowledge to build robust scalable solutions
- Solid business facing skills to gather and document requirements
- Ability to translate requirements into dashboard format
- Knowledge of formal database architecture and design
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Experience with agile development methodologies, tools, and team-based development like Jira, Atlassian suite
