Credit Acceptance’s in-house creative team is responsible for producing exceptional concepts and inspiring content, and delivering results for the brand. We’re looking for a Senior Art Director to help us tell our story in new ways across a variety of B2B and B2C channels. You’re a big picture thinker who’s also adept at crafting captivating visuals with a keen eye for detail. You have a strong understanding of brand identity, how to extend design systems across a range of formats, and you have a POV on current design trends. You express yourself like a pro both when speaking and writing and can pitch a concept to stakeholders, explaining the reasons behind your visual choices.

Outcomes and Activities:

  • Interpret and respond to creative briefs to formulate concepts for execution.
  • Develop and direct effective visual solutions for communications and marketing channels, including email, direct mail, websites, social media posts, print and digital ads and assets, video scripts, and campaigns that align with the brand, messaging, and strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Creative teams, as well as with other stakeholders, to ideate and execute engaging visual solutions to meet objectives
  • Live, breathe, and champion our new brand guidelines, as well as help to flesh them out as we learn where refinement is needed
  • Communicate and present visual concepts effectively to peers and stakeholders
  • Stay current with best practices in visual design across digital and traditional platforms
  • Manage workload and schedules to meet deadlines
  • Oversee the work of designers and freelancers and mentor them to meet their potential

Knowledge and Skills:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Advertising, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on design principles and execution or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of art direction experience including a portfolio that demonstrates visual and concept development with an understanding of brand identity, consumer behavior, and design trends across multiple touchpoints
  • A proven track record of creating visually stunning and impactful designs across various mediums, showcasing a deep understanding of layout, composition, color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to articulate and present creative concepts effectively
  • Expertise in industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), as well as familiarity with other relevant tools for multimedia and interactive design
  • Experience working on both B2B & B2C initiatives
  • Experience ideating and designing for a variety of channels, including email, web, social, video, and direct mail.
  • Experience with file management best practices and developing and/or maintaining a DAM system
  • Experience managing and mentoring team members

Preferred:

  • Mix of in-house and agency experience
  • Familiarity with motion design and animation principles, enabling you to create dynamic and engaging visual content for video and interactive experiences
  • Proficient knowledge of print production processes, including pre-press requirements, materials selection, and collaboration with print vendors to ensure high-quality final deliverables
  • A basic understanding of UX/UI design principles to create designs that not only look great but also offer intuitive and user-friendly interactions
