The Role at a Glance

Lincoln National Corporation seeks multiple positions for Sr. Analyst, Application Development in Radnor, PA to be part of the WorkPlace Solutions IT group to consult, analyze, design, and develop software for our Data & Analytics and Business Intelligence Consumers on existing technologies/platforms. Leverage industry leading Big Data tools and solutions on AWS Cloud geared towards modernizing and delivering capabilities and features designed to provide and simplify data consumption for our internal and external clients and downstream applications. Hands-on ability to analyze, design, and perform ETL development, as well as provide technical leadership as a Sr Member of an Agile/Scrum Develop Team.

Ability to collaborate with Business Sponsors/Product Managers and Owners and other development leads to implement solutions providing value to their respective value streams. Support / embrace technology transformation and AWS Cloud migration plans through on-prem to AWS cloud migrations. Hands on experience required in data mapping and data modeling methodologies include normal form, star, and snowflake to reduce data redundancy and improve data integrity. Take ownership and accountability of technical tasks include estimating, analysis, technical requirements, design, construction, and unit & integration testing following the SDLC.

Maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assess impact, and collaborates with Scrum Team and Technical Leadership to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions. Serve as an escalation point for issue resolution. Identify problems and present/develop solutions. Performance and stress testing with security, migration, and integration.

Skilled at AWS Cloud services to process large data workloads; Designing and Developing ETL Processes in AWS Glue using Python/PySpark to migrate data from external sources like S3, Parquet/text files into SQL Postgres and Redshift, and NoSQL databases; building APIs using AWS API Gateway, Lambda, SNS/SQS and RDS; and monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch. Hands on experience in scheduling jobs using AWS Step Functions, Stonebranch (or comparable distributed/cloud based scheduler). Expertise at building and maintaining Dev/Ops CICD pipelines using GitLab with experience in using automated unit/quality tests and tools (e.g. Postman, JUnit, Mockito).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical field and 5 years’ experience in a senior IT role designing and developing ETL applications to provide and simplify data consumption for clients and downstream retirement plan services applications and values streams. Must include:
  • 5 years ETL application development using Informatica PowerCenter developing ETL mappings; data modeling and design of operational data stores, data warehouses and data marts utilizing normal form, star and snowflake schemas; processing large datasets of different forms including structured, semi and unstructured data; scripting in tools (Python, Pyspark or UNIX); Architecture Design/modeling creating complex technical specifications from business requirements.
  • 2 years technical leadership on an Agile Scrum Team; Design/Development of on-prem to cloud data migrations utilizing key AWS services and databases.
  • 2 years utilizing distributed job schedulers and building and maintaining DevOps CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
