What You Will Do:

Join a high-performing project management team supporting important U.S. Air Force acquisition and sustainment programs. This position is for a Program Manager Senior Consultant for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. Duties include applying knowledge and experience in acquisition policies and procedures to procure and sustain Air Force weapon systems and subsystems throughout their life cycles. Program Management responsibilities include the following:

  • Lead development of acquisition and sustainment strategies for Air Force weapon system ACAT II/III Programs
  • Conduct planning and analysis for all acquisition phases, with an initial focus on pre- Milestone B activities
  • Collaborate with program office staff and other stakeholders to plan and execute modification programs/efforts associated with Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Obsolescence issues to include strategies, plans, agreements, and schedules.
  • Analyze or develop Courses of Action (COA) including cost, schedule, and/or performance estimates.
  • Collaborate with program office staff and other stakeholders to identify risks to program/project processes and activities and develop and execute associated mitigation strategies
  • Analyze and define impacts of changes to program baselines (cost, schedule, and/or performance) resulting from new requirements and develop draft informational, status, and decision briefings and documents
  • Participate in various program Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings and program management reviews as required.
  • Collect and analyze stakeholder requirements, program objectives, and develop assessment criteria.
  • Coordinate related program/technical documentation between functional resources, stakeholders, and approving authorities to gain approval for program office use.

What You Will Need:

  • An ACTIVE and CURRENT SECRET federal security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • EIGHT (8) or more years work experience in one or a combination of the following fields:

– management consulting

– risk consulting

– technology consulting

– logistics consulting

– risk consulting

– program/project management

– production management

– operations management

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II or above certification
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface and brief officials at all levels within an organization
  • Ability to lead planning efforts across multiple organizations/stakeholders with minimal guidance/supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize with strong attention to detail
