About You

Nutrafol is seeking a project manager for our science and innovations team. This role will be part of the Science team and will lead the interface between the company and scientific laboratory and research partners; including identifying new labs, experimental design, data analysis, science communication, allocation of resources, and working cross-functionally with other departments at Nutrafol.

The successful candidate will be a creative problem-solver, organized and proactive, as well as able to consider the big picture. He will own the project management process for research projects including developing overall project plan, phases, workstreams, activities, deliverables and milestones to develop consistent processes & partnerships for success.

Responsibilities:

  • Identification of labs to run analytical testing, in vitro and ex vivo studies
  • Assisting with the experimental design and data analysis
  • Communication of data, including preparation of scientific posters and manuscripts for publication
  • Track and manage progress on laboratory projects, ensuring deadlines are met and roadblocks are solved for as necessary
  • Create action plans for new projects generated by internal and external requests
  • Responsible for coordination across labs, including requesting samples and documents, item coordination, and shipments, and managing timelines
  • Communicate directly with various internal and external partners to understand, define, and communicate progress on projects
  • Develop firm understanding of internal lab processes and databases
  • Build and maintain effective relationships which create a high level of trust across multiple functions
  • Respond to inquiries by phone, email and in person quickly and professionally
  • Participate in meetings with the principal investigator and staff to evaluate and interpret the validity of data, determine methodologies, and evaluate lab procedures impacting the quality and timeliness of research.
  • Analyze data using statistical methodologies; may produce graphic results.
  • Communicate with researchers in other laboratories; share ideas and research methodologies to improve the effectiveness of the research.
  • Keep abreast of research techniques and methodologies that might facilitate designated research projects.
  • Monitor the performance of both the Investigator(s) and/or the Laboratory as applicable.
  • Support maintenance of project documentation files and internal databases with generic project information and input project specific information, as directed and if applicable.
  • Assist with the organization and tracking of samples: receipt, retrieval and shipping as applicable.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Biology or similar field preferred
  • 3-6 years of experience in a scientific research/project management role with an expertise in cell and molecular biology
    • Dermatological or hair biology knowledge is a plus
    • Some academic experience a plus
  • Publication record and preparation of scientific decks
  • Experience within vitro and ex vivo research related to bioactives utilized in dietary supplements and/or topical applications a plus
  • Familiarity with, or previous experience managing, analytical chemistry analyses (HPLC, LC/MS, NMR, UV/VIS, IR, TLC, etc.) a plus
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and previous project management experience (i.e., familiar with gantt charts and other tools)
  • Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks on time with a high degree of accuracy
  • Show initiative and ability to work as part of a high-level team while working independently
  • Proven ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to new processes smoothly
