The QE Performance Testing Solution Architect acts as a senior level technical and functional expert, partnering with IT stakeholders at all levels to identify architectural solution options and map value streams for Performance Engineering, Performance Testing that enable Continuous Delivery, Scalability & Value.
This position is responsible for using solution architecture practices and techniques to deliver measurable business outcomes in all Application and Project based initiatives both Legacy Systems & Azure Cloud Modernization.
What You’ll Be Doing (Responsibilities):
- Evaluates architectural options and defines overall Performance Engineering Practices, Tooling, Configurations ensuring consistency across the Enterprise for all LOB scope of applications & services. (Specifically, Legacy and Azure Cloud)
- Provide technical guidance to the Quality Engineers and SDETs focused on Performance Testing with code reviews, pair programming, and direct coding contributions to Performance Testing.
- Lead efforts on existing Performance baselines to include business needs and production trends with appropriate reporting mechanisms of results & risks both detective and preventive considerations.
- Collaborate with Development teams to establish performance testing frameworks that provide long term value (maintainability, reliability, reusability, scalability) in our Azure Cloud environment.
- Drives engagement with ITS Security and Infrastructure teams to ensure Test Environments and Data needs are met timely to conduct Performance Tests & assessments for both data center & cloud enabled solutions.
- Takes initiative on a daily basis to self-direct and coach Performance Engineers with the goal to achieve Maturity in Performance Testing in an Agile SAFe Continuous delivery model.
- Define non-functional requirements for Performance testing in CI-CD with monitoring, alerts, ensuring alignment with technology best practices, methodologies and SLAs.
- Owns the current and future states of Performance testing in Agile continuous delivery. Define, build and mature Metrics and trends to depict coverage, traceability and value.
- Provides subject matter expertise and technical consulting support on either vendor or internal applications and interfaces with Load Criteria and evaluations.
- Assess and communicate financial impact of technical architecture alternatives to all stakeholders with the long-term (“big picture”) and short-term perspectives.
- Conducts industry research of emerging technologies, facilitates new product and vendor evaluations, POC, and assists in vendor selection.

What You Bring With You (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience and certified technical training is required.
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience in Test design, development, implementation, and/or Performance Testing solution/architecture or equivalent.
- Experience with diverse technical configurations, technologies, and processing environments for large scale integrations and complex architectures such as Corporate applications, Mainframe, ERP/CRM, Web Apps, APIs, Microservices, POS Solutions, Payment Industry, Website, Mobile Apps, etc.
- Expertise using JMeter and LoadRunner for Performance testing and coding experiences in .Net, Python, C/C++, VSTS, Git or Comparable Tools & Technologies specialized in Performance testing.
- Strong understanding of SOA, Microservices, network architecture and distributed technologies (On-premises and Azure Cloud), multiple OS Linux, Unix, Windows and its performance counters.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/HTTP /s protocols.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical architecture requirements for Performance testing in continuous delivery hence in Azure DevOps/Git CI-CD.
- Ability to Communicate IT requirements and guidelines to internal team, all IT functions and vendor partners.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Dockers, containers, CI/CD, Chaos Testing and comprehends the functions and capabilities of new technology.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation with experience in Technical team leadership.
- Any SAFe certification or training
- ITIL Foundations certification, Test Engineering certifications in Process/Tools with Performance Engineering preferred.
