Job Description
Siemens PMO organization is looking for an Entry to Mid- Level Project Manager for its Digital Solutions business. The successful candidate will interface with both internal and external customers to execute complex solutions projects. The Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of project goals, which include finance, schedule, and quality. This position is responsible for a variety of project types, for the EM LP PMO. Projects include complex digital solutions and service, power monitoring, EPMS, SCADA, complex system electrical equipment integration, branch circuit monitoring, and power distribution equipment build coordination. The Project Manager will be the direct customer point of contact that support a wide array of vertical markets. A successful candidate will have experience managing contracted vendors, providing direction to field personnel, and coordinating factory operations. This position reports directly to the PMO PM Manager. This position allows for remote working. Some work travel will be required.
What you will do:
- Project manager for all Digital Solutions projects
- Support project stakeholders on day-to-day activities
- Support CPM team on invoicing and coordination of invoicing with an emphasis on managing back-log
- Direct logistics team on procurement activities
- Collaborate with Solutions Engineers
- Serve as the escalation point for complex issues and challenges.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive improvements across organizations
- Applies skills to resolve complex problems to ensure successful implementation of solutions pursuant to customer deliverables and agreed upon contract terms.
- Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex and/or cross-functional problems.
- Develops risk mitigation plans to preempt potential problems through the application of
- concepts, techniques, knowledge, processes and lessons learned.
- Complies with Siemens policies and procedures.
- Take ownership of project with minimal intervention from Sales.
- Manage all phases of projects from initiation through closeout and be financially accountable to overall project performance.
- Utilize existing project plan templates and associated communications documents to foster transparent communications with stakeholders.
- Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Liaise with service, sales, and engineering resources as part of an overall Customer @ the Core centric project focus.
- Provide project financial health forecasts to internal stakeholders as part of regular project status updates.
- Work with Solutions Engineering to estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
- Coordinate service and hardware procurement efforts.
- Utilize project management software tools to generate schedules, forecasts, service bandwidth loading, and earned values throughout project performance period.
- Provide direction to the Project Engineer(s) on project scope and expectations.
- Perform lessons learned activities upon project closure.
- Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified by management.
What you must have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical and/or Software preferred), Construction Management, or similar technical discipline from an accredited university or college.
- Electrical installation and/or construction project management experience preferred.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred with working knowledge of project management processes & tools.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and proven track record of collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, services, engineering, operations, and logistics.
- Proven experience at managing a high volume of projects at a single time.
- Proven experience in managing subcontractors and/or field service personnel.
- Prior experience in risk management.
- Experience in commercial project reporting.
- Previous experience in project closure.
- SCADA and Power Monitoring experience is a plus.
