Full Remote

  • Responsible for data center infrastructure consolidation/migration activities for two medium sized data centers in partnership with selected partner vendor.
  • Interface with business units and application support teams to ensure test plans are created and validated prior to migration and successfully tested during move events.
  • Interface with infrastructure support teams to ensure availability of appropriate capacity for infrastructure platform, appropriate support assigned for move events, and lessons learned captured from to apply to future migrations (continuous improvement).
  • Develops, refines, validates and manages project plans for overall migration of each data center in partnership with vendor partner.
  • Provides timely and concise communications to functional leadership regarding project status and pending issues; analyzes processes and makes recommendations for optimizing resources and product delivery.
  • Develops project plans based on specifications provided by the Portfolio Management staff and manages effective execution of the initiatives.
  • Builds consensus among multiple process leads relative to project scope, task execution, staffing and issue resolution.
  • Direct oversight of project financials including initial development of budgets in conjunction with infrastructure support groups and selected vendor, ongoing updating/management of actuals and reporting of current financial status.
  • Identifies potential risks within the project; proactively manages issues.
  • Participates in identifying project costs, resource allocation, project schedule changes and issue escalation. Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Requires good interpersonal skills, excellent relationship building skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Requires good group presentation skills, analytical and problem solving skills and excellent organizational and leadership skills.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10 to 12 years of IT work experience, including 7 or more years managing data center infrastructure consolidation/migration projects

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience leading IT infrastructure data center consolidations/migrations and familiarity with the following technologies: Server P2V, V2V migrations, network circuits, servers, databases, large storage arrays
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Waterfall methodology
    • Complex projects with multiple integration points
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
    • Relevant business software (e.g. Microsoft Office applications, Clarity/PPM, MS Project)
  • Experience to handle multiple high priority projects is required.
  • Possess the ability to balance a willingness to engage with ideas different from their own, encourage others to express divergent perspectives, the capability to influence, conflict management, and teamwork.
  • Highly adaptable to changing environment.
  • Situational awareness of when to listen and when to be assertive.
  • Willingness to work multiple weekend migration events as dictated by project schedule
