Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support Product leads in guiding product strategy and growth
  • Support in the design, development and management of new and existing product features and capabilities
  • Support bi-annual reviews of product performance against expectations and influence changes to product portfolio to improve
  • Work with cross functional departments in enhancing our national products
  • Demonstrates an understanding of synergies across the portfolio and how to meet market needs and continue to drive growth
  • Understands and evaluates enterprise-wide assets as portfolio expansions to improve our competitive position and drive customer value
  • Partner with regional and local teams to develop product strategy that meets their individual needs
  • Provide consultative support throughout product development and implementation
  • Proactive support and issue management for national products
  • Support ongoing development of marketing material including Value Story, Sell Sheets, FAQs, and external materials
  • Work with regions and local markets to identify product opportunities for our national products
  • Assist in documenting progress in project tracking tools and prepare leadership summaries which identify progress and barriers
  • Interface with Network, Legal, Regulatory, Operations, Actuary, HCE and other teams to ensure coordinated alignment on product needs
  • Resourceful in effectively navigating the organization, managing multiple cross-organizational and external relationships
  • Design, development, management or sunsetting of new, existing or acquisition products
  • Manages a specific good or service available externally on the market that can be incorporated into our products
  • Full product lifecycle management, including strategy, design, development, management, and end of life of new, existing or acquisition products
  • Leverage market insights to understand market/customer needs to identify new opportunities or adjust current product offerings
  • Accountable for delivering product performance against expectations and updates changes to a product portfolio to improve competitive position, and optimal product performance to meet customer and market needs
  • Partners with Product and Operations teams in understanding target markets, user wants, needs, feedback and motivations to inform product roadmap and feature backlog
  • Adheres to standard procedures for developing, iterating, and launching product features. Owns clearly articulating specs and documentation to all stakeholders
  • Creates and effectively utilizes user stories and personas as part of design development
  • Assists in driving innovation strategy
  • Models UHG culture

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of healthcare industry experience
  • 2+ years of experience in parts of the product development lifecycle
  • 2+ years of experience writing requirements and acceptance criteria
  • 2+ years of experience working and influencing effectively in a large, matrixed environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in creating and managing roadmaps from conception to launch
  • Experience working in Visio and building PowerPoint Presentations
  • Experience assessing problems and implementing solutions
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills combined with solid presentation and public speaking skills
  • Understanding of Agile or waterfall project methodologies

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington residents is $85,000 to $167,300. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
