We are looking for a talented Principal UX Designer to join the Togo Group team!
The Principal UX Designer will work at a senior level with cross-functional and cross organizational partners, having a line of sight across our entire brand portfolio. In concert with the CPO, this role will help direct the holistic design and synthesis of our solutions across all lines of business to ensure we are strategically raising the bar on behalf of our customers. This includes: leading design workshops, developing vision prototypes, and working backwards to make incremental progress toward objectives.
Where You’re Located:
Candidates for this role will be based in the United States and can work remotely or in our Chicago or Cincinnati offices.
Your Impact:
- Obsess over customers – UX is the best mechanism for aligning our customers’ needs with our products
- Determine the users needs and the business drivers for any given piece of work
- Establish and drive best practices across the team, leading through mentorship and example
- View the forest and the trees simultaneously; help the team understand how today’s decisions impact the customers of the future
- Grow, network and then mentor – bring your learning back to the rest of the team
- Present design work to UX, Product, and Engineering teams, as well as stakeholders and executive leadership
- Works closely with designers, developers, testers, stakeholders, UX researchers and BAs within an Agile framework
- Create wireframe concepts as needed
- Create pixel-perfect mocks, icons, and assets
- Ensure consistency between various business lines and platforms
- Understand how your work feeds into the strategy and articulate how your work achieves our wider company initiatives
- Keep management and project teams informed of projects status against agreed timeframes
- Escalate any issues to management that may compromise performance & objectives
- Champion the Togo Group culture, leading by example and delivering through the lens of our “Rules of the Roadâ€
What You’ve Done Before:
- Bachelor’s degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or related UX degree is ideal
- 10+ years of professional work experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar UX-related role, on enterprise products
- An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating a range of process & artifacts developed in creating a variety of visual and/or functional solutions
- Command of design software including Sketch, Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Invision, Axure, or similar
- Affinity and experience with accessible design solutions that embody best practices, are focused on inclusivity, and empower our customers
- Strong time management skills and the ability to provide design leadership-level work independently
- Experience with global design systems and collaboration – Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) is a big plus
- Proven ability to both deliver a bold vision and iterate quickly on concepts, with experience producing prototypes and high-fidelity wireframes
- Deep experience collaborating with and influencing senior-level product managers, design leadership, and engineering leadership on best design solutions using data as a rationale for decisions
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present a strong rationale for design decisions
- Ability to scope design initiatives accurately and prioritize work items appropriately
- Gifted at translating complexity and ambiguity into actionable steps, and helping bring other designers along on that journey
