Job Description: We currently have an opportunity for a PowerBI IT Manager to join our Corporate IT team in our Boston MA, Canton MA offices or remotely nationwide. This position will Lead a team of PowerBI developers, the platform and developing a suite of Business Intelligence reporting to help scale PowerBI implementation at Intact.
Responsible for the support of company applications, technologies, and/or infrastructure across the organization, serving as a business and technical liaison between internal and external customers. Manages cross functional planning and project teams in the establishment, design, and implementation of new or revised systems and programs. Manages direct reports, providing timely and insightful direction and coaching on roles, responsibilities, business strategy, and customer-driven culture expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of Intact’s PowerBI implementation.
- Working to create and improve existing enterprise reporting.
- Designing and building PowerBI dashboards and reports to a high standard focusing on usability.
- Establishing an ownership model for PowerBI artefacts.
- Provides leadership and oversight to direct reports and team by establishing goals, providing coaching and feedback, evaluating performance, and supporting development and training initiatives.
- Establishes and maintains strong business relationships with both senior and operating level business leaders across the organization, customers, and vendors.
- Be a thought partner to the team and business units, providing recommendations for improvement of business processes by leveraging existing IT capabilities and/or defining new strategic IT capabilities.
- Acts as the point of contact for escalated department/team issues and facilitate the prioritization process.
- Keeps abreast of new technology developments. Understand and maintain technology standards and guidelines.
- Manages and leads projects and project life cycle; accountable for identifying needs, securing commitments and monitoring progress of deliverables. Meets scheduled milestones to ensure project/program objectives are met.
- Responsible for communication of project progress with senior IT and business leadership.
- Participate in key IT and assigned business unit governance, planning and initiative review teams, committees, and meetings.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in business intelligence reporting/PowerBI/Azure (advanced).
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of Cloud systems and operations related to data movement.
- Strong understanding of data privacy and protection.
- Advanced understanding of IT applications and technologies, particularly PowerBI, Azure, and others.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Must be responsive, organized and lead by example.
- Knowledge of current industry developments in various IT areas.
- Requires project/program planning, implementation and management experience.
- Strong customer service experience and skills.
- Effective presentation skills and ability to communicate successfully with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to bring assignments/projects within departments or across the organization to closure on time and on budget as defined.
- Ability to motivate and lead others.
- Exceptional decision making, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Strong leadership skills and experience is managing large teams of people, allocating resources and developing staff.
- Must be able to be given assignments/projects within departments or across the organization and have the ability to bring them to closure on time and on budget as defined.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field or equivalent work experience.
- 7 to 10 years of IT and business/industry work experience.
- Requires prior management, supervisory or team leader experience.
- Data Analysis skills and capabilities (advanced).
- Business Intelligence reporting manager, PowerBI Manager, reporting expertise.
