About the Business Development & Commercial Programs team
The Business Development & Commercial Programs (BizDev) team is focused on driving growth for Thumbtack through incubating new ventures, building strategic supply and demand partnerships, developing go-to-market strategies, and general managing (GM-ing) new products and businesses, working in close partnership with cross-functional teams across Thumbtack. The team is spread across 4 key pillars: 1) New Ventures & Partnerships, 2) Commercial Strategy & Analysis (BizOps), 3) Merchandising & Category Management, and 4) Go-to-market( Commercial ) Business Programs. The team works across Supply (Pros), Demand (Customers), and Fulfillment (Monetization) to ensure we leave no stones unturned in pursuing our ambition to be the only app homeowners and pros use to care for their homes and their businesses.
About the Role
The Business Lead – Supply Partnerships is the leader responsible for the business and go-to-market strategy of our broader Supply and API programs, as well as the execution of Partner strategies through our sales teams. The Business Lead is a General Manager that will directly impact the overall growth of the Thumbtack marketplace. You will create and maintain a framework for ensuring that we acquire and maintain the best Partners that enable the growth and success of Ideal Pros on our platform.. The Business Lead will also work closely with our Product and Sales teams to ensure that the joint goals, objectives, and needs of us and our partners are met/exceeded, and result in exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the General Manager of our Supply Partnerships and API programs, with accountability for the growth and success of our Supply Partnerships and integrated Pro base
- Responsible for maintenance of our partnership program & ecosystem with the goal of increasing the value of our partners by driving net new revenue through lead generation, brand awareness, and adoption of our integrations.
- Developing co-selling and co-marketing initiatives; including training with our partners, partnering with Marketing and internal sales team to create win/win strategies.
- Develop and refine OKRs and KPIs to measure our success
- Work cross-functionally with product, sales, success, and marketing teams to drive continued GTM strategy with our partners
- Proactively engage with Thumbtack’s strategic portfolio of partners
- Partner with product and engineering teams on product roadmap to deepen partner integrations
What you’ll need

- 7+ years of experience in General Management, Business Operations, GTM Strategy, Business Development, Management Consulting or similar roles and experiences
- Demonstrated ability to build strong cross functional relationships and influence leaders at all levels
- Experience setting and achieving revenue goals or other financial metrics
- Technology enthusiast, positively curious, and eager to build and learn
- Proven ability to manage, utilize, and prioritize your time and efforts
- Comfortable being at the intersection of strategy, operations, business development, and technology
Bonus points if you have
- Experience working for a company offering services through an online Marketplace
- Ability to work cross-functionally within an organization to drive results
- Understanding of API and technology tools
- Comfortable working in a highly entrepreneurial environment and building new processes from the ground up
