Job Description
Title: Organic Growth Manager
Location: San Francisco, CA or Remote (Based in the U.S.)
NerdWallet is seeking a strategic and analytical marketer to join our Organic Growth team to support our Credit Cards and Travel verticals. As a member of this extremely multifaceted and collaborative team, you will immerse yourself in evolving data sets as our verticals hit new stages of maturity.
The Organic Growth Manager role is dynamic. You will be responsible for leading the organic acquisition strategy for credit cards and travel with a rooted foundation in content development. You’ll do this by: developing a deep understanding of consumer needs, prioritizing content team efforts that align to those needs, and supporting cross-functional execution with partners in the marketing and product departments. The Organic Growth Manager for Credit Cards and Travel is a cross-functional and high-visibility role within NerdWallet, partnering closely with product managers, editorial content, PR, brand marketing, and many more Nerds (including senior stakeholders) across the organization.
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Organic Growth.
Where you will make an impact:
- Drive organic visitor growth for our credit cards and travel businesses, which will have a direct impact on NerdWallet’s success. You’ll be accountable for this key number and responsible for understanding trends, performance, and forecasting growth.
- Develop an overall acquisition strategy with particular emphasis on SEO. Identify and prioritize top opportunities, and ensure alignment across product, content, and marketing teams through effective communication and actionable recommendations.
- Leverage analytics tools like SEMRush, Botify, Looker, and A/B Testing platforms to measure impact of content efforts and diagnose opportunities for optimization.
- Work closely with an Organic Growth Senior Analyst across projects.
- Support editors and writers to develop a content roadmap.
- Partner with Brand, Performance, CRM, and other core marketing functions to collaborate on end-to-end consumer acquisition strategies.
- Drive execution and delivery of initiatives. Consistently HBML: Hypothesize, Build, Measure, Learn.
- Strong influencer and executioner, with the ability to translate recommendations into results.
You are:
- Biased to action: able to quickly make decisions to drive execution, with little oversight; you take responsibility and initiative for shaping strategy and execution
- Data-driven and analytical: skilled at turning data points into actionable insights; you focus on 80:20 analysis, prioritizing speed over perfection; you identify biased or incorrect data and address it appropriately
- Structured thinker: able to break-down opportunities into specific drivers, hypotheses and frameworks to structure your team’s thinking, generate action plans, and align stakeholders
- Strategically-minded: able to identify and prioritize strategic initiatives; eager to think big about attracting consumers to NerdWallet
- Highly effective influencer: able to build strong cross-functional partnerships and act as a thought-partner; you work quickly and collaboratively to drive complex projects forward, and others look to you for solutions amid uncertainty
