About the job:
The American Red Cross seeks an experienced .Net DevOps Engineer (SE IV) to be responsible for design, development, support, maintenance, and enhancement of technology solutions including .NET and C# applications, Java applications, Oracle Server databases, BizTalk, Web Services, and vendor-provided solutions. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the aforementioned areas and have experience developing support procedures and documentation. Candidate must have strong collaboration skills and be able to work effectively with both local and remote resources.
What you will be doing:
- Understanding customer requirements and project KPIs
- Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure
- Supporting the team structure, activities, and involvement in project management activities.
- Collaborating with stakeholders and external interfaces
- Setting up tools and required infrastructure
- Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
- Have the technical skill to review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project.
- Troubleshooting techniques and fixing the code bugs
- Monitoring the processes during the entire lifecycle for its adherence and updating or creating new processes for improvement and minimizing the wastage
- Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
- Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management
- Incident management and root cause analysis
- Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)
- Mentoring and guiding junior team members
- Monitoring and measuring customer experience and KPIs
- Managing periodic reporting on the progress to the management and the customer
- Responsible for planning, processing and performing all jobs in an efficient manner with little or no assistance from the supervisor
- Working closely with upper management.
- Design and develop technology solutions making specific determinations about system performance.
- Responding promptly and professionally to bug reports.
- Review and repair legacy code
What we need from you:
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
- Visual Studio 2015, 64-bit, Enterprise Edition – 5+ years
- C# – 3+ years
- J-Query, HTML, XML, PL SQL – 2+ years
- DevOps, TFS, and/or VSTS – Minimum 4 years
Skills & Abilities:
- Mastery of one or more programming languages.
- Ability to work on a team.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and completely.
- Ability to identify tasks which require automation and automate them.
- Solid understanding the principles of object oriented and client/server programming.
- Possess excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work in an AGILE, waterfall, or hybrid SDLC environment.
- Expert knowledge of maintaining and debugging live software systems.
- Expert knowledge of writing program documentation.
- Expert knowledge of standard development tools.
- Ability to determine whether a particular problem is caused by hardware, operating systems software, application programs, or network failures.
- Ability to be 24-hour on-call during period of major disaster.
- Ability to communicate highly technical information effectively to various audiences.
- Travel: May travel to participate in meetings as required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science field or equivalent experience required

What’s in it for you:
For those candidates located in Colorado or Connecticut, the annual salary range for this position is $100 – $110K. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that the American Red Cross sets salary ranges aligned to a specific geographic location in which the job or employee resides. The stated salary range in this posting is an average and may not be reflective of your individual circumstances.
