Marketing Communications Specialist

REMOTE / INSIDETRACK – MARKETING / FULL-TIME

We are seeking a talented Marketing Communications Specialist to join InsideTrack’s marketing team and focus on supporting strategic storytelling and analytical reporting communications as it relates to our key partnerships with Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBI). InsideTrack partners with nearly half of all HBCUs in the country (50+ campuses) and we are launching an HBCU coaching excellence initiative to centralize and curate insights and best practices. This marketing role will be focused on supporting that mission-aligned work, as well as other major partnerships in Operations as needed.

This new position will play a pivotal role in analyzing coaching outcomes; developing effective reports and communications; and sharing insights and best practices with institutional partners for widespread network impact. The right candidate will be grounded in marketing communication principles and enjoy digging into qualitative and quantitative data to identify key learnings and insights for the HBCU initiative’s team that can optimize the coaching experience at InsideTrack and inform the advising experience at institutions. This role will collaborate with and report to the Creative Strategy & Design Manager to align communications with our market-facing brand strategy.

Essential Job Functions:

  • A strong combination of strategic analytical skills, writing and storytelling skills is a must.
  • Experience interpreting and synthesizing data to identify key findings and overall trends.
  • Ability to listen to partnership leads, translate data and visualize qualitative information and quantitative data into compelling narratives that showcase trends, opportunities, insights and ultimately best practices.
  • Ability to relay content that assists the viewer in strategic thinking or decision-making.
  • Effective in creating templates and workflows to fulfill regular monthly reporting to individual institutional partnerships and also partner with others in the center to lead broader scope reports and whitepapers for InsideTrack’s HBCU Center for Coaching Excellence.
  • Solid marketing knowledge and experience to leverage as we amplify the partnerships and the key learning and insights coming out of the HBCU Center for Coaching Excellence.
  • Future marketing may include written content, video content or live convening/event support.
  • Excellent relationship skills to collaborate closely with marketing teammates, as well as cross-functionally with members of our Operations, Research and Analytics departments.
  • Proven ability to handle concurrent projects with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organized with exceptional project management expertiseExperience/appreciation/ cultural competence regarding HBCU and PBI culture.
  • Secondarily, this role will support marketing needs on other strategically important partnerships at key milestones, as needed.

Performance Requirements:

  • 2-5 years applicable work experience in a related field: marketing and communications, higher education, or student support preferred.
  • Personal experience with Black campuses to ensure a deep understanding of the context for our work and a strong desire to make a difference in supporting Black campuses.
  • Strong strategic mindset combined with strong writing and storytelling skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience developing presentations, including proficiency with spreadsheets and slides (Google suite preferred) and familiarity with Google Looker Studio.
  • Excellent relationship management skills to ensure collaboration with others on the marketing team and in other departments.
  • Proven ability to handle concurrent projects with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organized with exceptional project management expertise.
  • Preference for experience with Wrike project management system.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.

Preferences:

  • Lived experience, education or relationship with an HBCU or PBI.
