  • A successful candidate will be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. You will have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
  • You will be responsible for leading the team and implementing pricing and channel visibility strategy.
  • You will influence all cross functional departments with strong communication to gain alignment on pricing processes, opportunities and risks.
  • You will lead a team of analysis and economics experts who leverage a variety of data platforms and analytical tools to determine the necessary pricing actions to maximize profitability, while still ensuring integrity and accuracy.
  • You will create pricing decisions based on analysis and input from data in order to determine how best to price an item that will be attractive for our customers, profitable for Zappos, and anchor on building trust for anyone shopping on


  • Driving the implementation of tactical pricing initiatives and strategy changes; addressing process, technical requirements, communication, training users, and overall change management in coordination with other key stakeholders.
  • Assessing financial impact, review changes with business stakeholders, translate changes into pricing rules, implement and test those in the pricing system, recap the financial impact, and adjust as necessary.
  • Developing and overseeing pricing health KPIs in support of understanding customer trust and enact process changes in alignment with strategy.
  • Managing and influencing relationships and partnerships with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Creating influential partnerships with cross functional business partners to understanding and influence needs and communicating strategy and actions accordingly in support of business.
  • Leading team to apply analytics to identify opportunities that achieve sustained competitive advantage.
  • Implementing and guiding others on pricing strategy within reporting and analytics and advising on health and goal towards pricing goals.
  • Comparing prices set by competitors and measuring customer satisfaction
  • Working with senior leaders to manage risk across various aspects of business operations
  • Providing inputs to the pricing systems roadmap, verifying that the pricing systems supports implementing the planned pricing strategy and process changes to build scalability and automations into the reporting and analysis
  • Auditing department goals to align with broader organizational goals; answer to department performance.
  • Leading the team in the evaluation of competitor and marketplace dynamics to assess the impact on the organization’s business and develop data-driven pricing strategy and process recommendations.
  • Analyzing and communicating KPI’s with stakeholders to continually evaluate and refine pricing practices, tactics, and strategy focused on results and actions.
  • Verifying day-to-day pricing processes, policies, and practices support business objectives and strategic goals, while meeting SOX and legal compliance.
  • Developing business and pricing acumen, as well as creating efficient internal processes and practices.
  • Managing the recruitment, coaching, and development of pricing team, including influencing the evolution of the pricing team, setting and aligning goals, and translating them into actionable plans


  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field of discipline or equivalent experience.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in pricing operations.
  • At least two (2) years of people management experience, to include coaching and developing.
  • Proficient in using a PC and Microsoft Office.


  • Experience with SQL & Tableau.
  • Experience using pricing platforms.
  • Experience in pricing operations in the retail and/or e-commerce industries.
