About the Role

Title: Lead Product Designer

Location: US
Work Type: Remote
Time Type: Full time
Job Type: Employee

Job Description:

Tapcheck is on a mission to rewire the way America gets paid. We’re redefining access to earned wages, disbursements, and financial freedom for millions of working people. We believe in building products that are bold, intuitive, and deeply human. And we believe design is not decoration – it’s strategy, advocacy, and leadership.

We’re looking for a Lead Product Designer who can move mountains with pixels, principles, and product sense. Someone who brings first-principles thinking, taste backed by research, and a spine of steel when advocating for the user. This is a high-impact leadership role for a product designer who wants to ship brilliant experiences and move the metric that matters.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the design vision for core product areas, connecting business objectives to human needs with clarity and conviction
  • Lead design reviews and present design solutions clearly to engineering, product management, and other stakeholders
  • Drive design from zero-to-one blue sky initiatives to fast, iterative experiments that validate, learn, and deliver
  • Advocate and be a bold voice for the user and the customer. Hold the business accountable to CSAT, NPS, and the lived experience of our product
  • Lead end-to-end design processes from user research, conceptual sketches, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups for mobile and web applications
  • Maintain design systems and component libraries that scale excellence across every team and surface
  • Partner deeply with product, engineering, marketing, and support to shape and ship end-to-end experiences

What You’ll Bring:

  • 8+ years of product design experience across mobile and web applications. Experience shipping products that influence business metrics
  • Demonstrated experience in designing user-centric digital products, with a strong understanding of user research, interaction design, and usability principles. You combine data and gut with equal strength
  • Fluency in Figma, plus experience creating and evolving scalable design systems
  • A portfolio that shows both your taste and your thinking – we want to see how you solve problems, not just how you polish pixels
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality user experiences
  • Comfort working in ambiguity, fast cycles, and high-stakes decisions. You think strategically, move fast, and sweat the details
