Title: Lead Digital Commerce Designer

This role is a mission critical position that designs, maintains, and enables our mid funnel digital commerce experience. As Lead Digital Commerce Designer, you will be dedicated to our digital commerce team with a focus on the customer’s ordering user experience flow. The ordering flow is designed to guide customers through our mid funnel experiences including: Purchase, Transaction, and Delivery. You will work across web and mobile app to evolve, maintain, and refine our digital purchase experience. The opening can be located at our Northern California or Southern California facilities or be fully remote and reports directly to an Associate Creative Director.
Responsibilities:
The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to:
- Work in partnership with our demand and sales business leads, design, engineering, and product teams, contributing to active work tracks that grow and convert our customer sales funnel.
- Evolve and maintain the digital purchase experience across title & registration, trade-in, financing, insurance, document upload, contract signing, scheduling delivery, and payment.
- Work within and expand our design system creating consistency, efficiency, and cohesion across the Rivian ecosystem.
- Be an expert in our unique DTC digital purchase process take the complex and translate it into a clear digital user flow.
- Be an expert context switcher across multiple projects to evolve the holistic direct to consumer commerce experience.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned within the scope of this position.
Qualifications:
- 6-10+ years of experience designing consumer facing experiences for brands and mid-funnel digital retail products.
- Deep experience leading highly complex and regulated purchase and checkout e-commerce flows within a DTC model and automotive retail product.
- Deep experience working on digital services including title & registration, trade-in, financing, insurance, document upload, contract signing, scheduling delivery, and payment.
- Experience localizing direct to consumer purchase experiences across domestic and global geographies.
- Expertise in design system refinement, prototyping, and componentization to enable efficiency for both design and engineering
- Comfort with presenting your work, explaining your thinking and working with others to bring your vision to life.
- Familiarity with user research to inform and validate designs and concepts.
- Appreciation for testing and iterating on work.
- Ability to pick things up quickly, manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting timelines and priorities.
- Innate interest and joy in working on heavy duty consumer facing digital ordering flows and a penchant towards extreme detail and constant maintenance of a rapidly evolving product.
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $150,000-$188,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
