Lead Data Analyst
REMOTE, U.S.
DATA – DATA ANALYTICS
FULL TIME
Interwell Health is a kidney care management company that partners with physicians on its mission to reimagine healthcare—with the expertise, scale, compassion, and vision to set the standard for the industry and help patients live their best lives. We are on a mission to help people and we know the work we do changes their lives. If there is a better way, we will create it. So, if our mission speaks to you, join us!
Our ideal candidate will be an experienced self-starter who can hit the ground running as an independent contributor writing SQL code, while working in parallel to manage a team of healthcare data analysts and engineers in partnership with a data product manager. Your primary responsibility as a dev team lead will be to manage “quality” and “velocity” within your data development team by ensuring that high quality analyses are packaged up and delivered to your internal customers in a timely manner. To succeed in this role you will need to work closely with your Interwell Health colleagues and with our payor and provider partners to source requirements, plan and structure analytics projects, understand base datasets, review detailed analytic plans, quality check code / results, and communicate key insights using Looker, Excel, and PowerPoint.
What you will do
- Grow and manage a data team responsible for understanding Interwell Health’s impact on health outcomes and building data products to provide world class kidney care
- As an independent contributor, write and review SQL code to clean and analyze different healthcare datasets, including medical claims, prescription claims, electronic health record (EHR), etc.
- As a team lead, oversee data coding quality and velocity for a team of healthcare data developers, building in the necessary quality control checks so that ad-hoc dev work becomes more scalable over time
- Translate technical challenges and learnings to data product managers and stakeholders to set expectations and plan milestones and deadlines
- Build, QC, and publish performance measurement dashboards that track health outcomes over time using Business Intelligence (BI) software such as Looker
- Build data-driven presentations that translate complex data analyses into crisp insights with clear recommendations, and present your work directly to C-suit
What you need
- 5+ years of healthcare data analytics experience (claims, EHR, Rx, etc.)
- Experience building and leading a team of data analysts and managing healthcare data projects end-to-end
- Excellent SQL coding skills
- Strong data visualization dev skills using Looker, Qlik, Tableau, and/or R Shiny
- The ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
Our mission is to reinvent healthcare to help patients live their best lives, and we proudly live our mission-driven values:
- We care deeply about the people we serve.
- We are better when we work together.
- Humility is a source of our strength.
- We bring joy to our work.
We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our recruiting practices. Everyone is welcome and included. We value our differences and learn from each other. Our team members come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. No matter how you identify your lifestyle, creed, or fandom, we value everyone’s unique journey.
Oh, and one more thing … a recent study shows that men apply for a job or promotion when they meet only 60% of the qualifications, but women and other marginalized groups apply only if they meet 100% of them. So, if you think you’d be a great fit, but don’t necessarily meet every single requirement on one of our job openings, please still apply. We’d love to consider your application!
