Joint Use Specialist – Product Manager

Location: Anywhere in the US.

Position Summary:

Bentley Systems is seeking a talented individual to become a valued member of our team as a Product Manager for our SPIDA product line. In this role you will guide the development and lifecycle of our SPIDAstudio product offering. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, quality control, services, marketing, and sales to ensure our products meet the needs of our users and align with our business objectives. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of the distribution and telecommunication industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a product strategy that aligns with the company’s vision and market demands. Identify opportunities for innovation and growth within the distribution and telecommunication software space
  • Conduct thorough discovery and research to understand user needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape. Use insights to inform product development and positioning.
  • Play a proactive role in product planning and maintaining a detailed product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and stakeholder expectations. Prioritize features and enhancements based on user feedback and market analysis.
  • Work closely with development/engineering, UX, quality assurance, and other teams to translate product vision into actionable requirements. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Engage with customers to gather feedback, understand pain points, and identify areas for improvement. Build strong relationships with key clients and industry partners.
  • Monitor and analyze product performance metrics to assess success and identify areas for improvement. Make data-driven decisions to optimize product offerings.
  • Create and maintain product documentation, including user guides, technical specifications, and release notes.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams and customers, ensuring they have the knowledge and resources needed to effectively use our products.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of industry experience in electric utility or telecommunications industry, and direct experience working in engineering, design, and joint use processes.
  • Familiarity with Bentley software such as SPIDAstudio and SPIDAcalc or other related asset management and workflow management systems
  • Proficiency in software development processes and methodologies is a plus.
  • Passion for understanding customer needs and delivering exceptional user experiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel (about 10%-15%) to industry events, user meetings and other Bentley offices.
