Kelly Services is hiring a Senior Manager of IT Software Strategic Sourcing, for our client in Whitestown IN (fully remote role). This is a contract role, with possibility of contract to hire.

Fully Remote (prefer EST but open to all time zones)
$10-12k monthly pay rate
Hours: 8am-5pm EST

What You’ll Do


As a Senior Manager of IT Software Strategic Sourcing, reporting to the Director IT Strategic Sourcing, you will be responsible for enabling business priorities within your spend categories, supporting strategic planning and executing, value delivery, and continuous improvement of IT spend categories as well as internal stakeholder management of IT stakeholders and facilitation of supplier management activities. This role needs to have a broad understanding of services, software, hardware and business go to market strategies for products that are used both in the infrastructure as well as sold in an SBD solution. This includes working with merger and acquisition and divestiture activities and IT needs for office locations.

This role will also be responsible for overseeing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) value creation for these categories through a combination of productivity, quality, innovation, service excellence, risk management and margin resiliency. Specifically, you’ll:

  • Partner with the stakeholders to develop and implement sourcing strategies for IT subcategories delivering value against productivity, service, quality and Innovation
  • Conduct category assessment, strategic spend analytics and build execution portfolio within Category Management framework to identify opportunities for Value delivery
  • Responsible for managing the relationship and setting expectations with our Information Technology partners to direct the overall management of multiple company data centers and inter/intranet operations (Corporate Headquarter Buildings, Distribution centers, Plant sites, Office locations)
  • Keeps informed of market and industry trends/developments technical, risk, commercial, or otherwise as they relate to the different technology products available in the marketplace
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop, implement and monitor category strategies
  • Lead supplier selection, negotiation and contracting process
  • Ensure effective contract execution and monitor contract compliance
  • Track performance within each applicable spend category and define budgetary impact
  • Drive value through supplier segmentation, analysis and relationship management (SRM)
  • Uphold internal and external policies, regulations and laws

  • Bachelor s degree in supply chain, Computer Science, Finance, Business or similar MBA or Masters in Supply Chain is preferred.
  • 8-10 years relevant experience in IT procurement, purchasing, sourcing or similar roles
  • Strong domain knowledge and key IT functional strategies and concepts
  • Expertise in the IT spend subcategories (Hardware, Software, Communications, and IT Services)
  • Understanding of demand management and specification management concepts as related to IT spend
  • Experience in developing and managing strategic sourcing (including RFx) in the subcategories of IT (Hardware, Software, Communications, and IT Services)
  • Experience negotiating contracts in the subcategories of IT (Hardware, Software, Communications, and IT Services)Proven Project Management expertise in initiating and supporting large and complex strategic sourcing projects across multiple business units leading to TCO reduction
  • Proven experience in Category Management in a matrixed large organization environment
  • Proficiency in conducting market analysis, cost modeling and financial risk management. Ability to proactively monitor and understand the market and identify opportunities resulting from new product offerings and/or market shifts (e.g., exit or entry of suppliers, changes in pricing, etc.).
  • Change leader – ability to adapt to changing conditions and identify creative solutions that add value
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, particularly at the C-level, VP and Director levels
  • Influencing without direct authority while being comfortable with conflict of opinions with a demonstrated track record of positive and constructive outcomes
  • Negotiate and draft enterprise-wide agreements that minimize financial and business risk exposure and provide optimal terms and conditions. Understand and negotiate business specific legal terms and conditions and explain them to clients in an easy
  • to understand manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex commercial and contractual (incl. understanding of key contract clauses) negotiations and ongoing supplier performance management/scorecards.
