Job Summary:

The Impact Manager role is responsible for representing the department on assigned cross-functional initiatives that impact business process or technology applications within the department, business readiness for projects and initiatives impacting the department, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.

This is a remote, individual contributor role that can work from anywhere in the United States. Travel is required 1-3 times per year to attend division meetings.

This role will:

  • Take the lead role in representing the division for assigned business processes, applications, projects, and initiatives through interface with other functional units across the business, ensuring the divisions interests and needs are known and appropriate solutions developed.
  • Communicate relevant information to management team and solicits input and feedback regarding initiatives impacting the department.
  • Provide key business insights to scope and align business readiness activities.
  • Lead or partner with the project team to plan and execute readiness activities for process, technology and system initiatives impacting assigned business units and functions.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVE:

  • Represents department in projects and initiatives that impact the department.
  • Seeks feedback from and engages leaders and appropriate subject matter experts to develop department requirements, advocate for the departments interests, and identify, resolve and /or escalate potential implementation issues and challenges.
  • Acts as liaison between project teams and department leadership to prioritize and sequence work.

BUSINESS READINESS:

  • Leads or partners with project team members including Project Management, Change Management, and Corporate Communications and others to scope, plan, and execute business readiness activities.
  • Provides post-implementation support to the department.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:

  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the division.
  • Designs solutions and changes to current roles, processes, procedures, training, and systems.
  • Engages cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to develop effective solutions for the division and its customers and moves continuous improvement initiatives forward from ideation to implementation.

Education & Experience:

  • 3-5 years of problem solving in an annuities environment.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in change management, with a focus on systems and operations, within an annuities environment.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent education.
  • Ability to travel 1-3 times per year for division meetings.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Leads and drives the work of others with minimal direction or supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills: ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with respect to business process design, technology solutions and application of operational and financial data
  • Demonstrated success applying process improvement methods in a team-based work environment.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and system development life cycle.
