This is a remote role that can be based anywhere in the U.S.

GOOD SAM is a leader in road travel services across the US, providing a range of services and discounts to provide a clear path to the joys of travel. We exist to protect our customer’s joy out on the road, delivering next-level reliability and problem-solving in service of unforgettable trips and lifelong memories.

WILDSAM is an American travel brand reimagining the boundaries of travel. We tell true stories of placeto unearth the real, the rooted, the unvarnished, and the authentic. Through our online platform, our new magazine and collection of pocket-sized field guides, we go beyond typical travel information, instead revealing a deep sense of place through archival heritage, local commentary, cultural landmarks and inspired writing. Wildsam stokes curiosity and opens pathways to the deep connections and mysteries of a place for all.

We are looking for a Designer to help bring this new visual identity to life across print, digital, and promotional channels. Additionally, this Designer will contribute to exciting Wildsam projects including content for our new website (launching later this year) as well as email, social, and specialty print applications. Our Designer will play a key role in concept development, layout, content packages, and all aspects of rich visual storytelling, in collaboration with the Art Director, Head of Creative, and Editorial team to resonate with targeted audience segments and key brand partners.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure excellence, keen attention to detail and strategic visual thinking in Good Sam rebrand application.
  • Implement Good Sam and Wildsam visual strategy to support key brand/business objectives across both brands.
  • Produce innovative visual concepts that enrich the audience experience across platforms.
  • Work within design workflows and ensure quality control across all projects troubleshoot issues when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the editorial and social teams on content for web and social.
  • Play a key role in design production, ensuring delivery in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform pre-press duties including file management, proofing, and final approvals.
  • Liaise with the larger team on active projects to ensure deliverables are met.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ design experience
  • Expertise in designing for both digital and print across editorial and promotional outputs
  • Agency experience and branded design work a plus
  • Expertise in adapting design ideas across multiple platforms and touchpoints
  • An appreciation of the requirements of corporate branding, and a solid understanding of marketing and advertising
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to convey and package creative ideas
  • A mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • Experience in After Effects a plus
  • A degree or diploma in art or design
  • A network of leading designers, illustrators and creative collaborators
  • A thorough understanding of print production
